White Birch Estates

White Birch Estates is located just off the main entrance to White Birch Golf Course. White Birch Resort also is made up of the Eagles Nest units which are all along the golf course. The Estates are near, but not on the golf course. Our unit was a very easy walk to the course which had a bar and restaurant with fine dining.

The unit had three bedrooms, the master with a king-size bed and two others with queens. There was also a pull-out couch to make sleeping available for eight.

The unit was very well-kept, clean, and had a very new feel to it. A full kitchen had a center bar and breakfast bar-type kitchen table that seated four. There was a dining room that opened up to the living room with television and stereo. This room also had a coffee table that was well stocked with games and puzzles for a rainy day. The living room had a partial wall with a three-sided gas fireplace. Past this wall was a second sitting area with glass door access to a patio. There is a golf decor throughout the unit.

The patio was furnished with umbrella table and chairs as well as two lounge-type chairs. The patio area was fairly well landscaped and very peaceful. Very close to the unit was a children’s play area where the kids could climb and slide and expend some energy.

The unit also has a large laundry room with full washer and dryer as well as plenty closet space.

As part of Breezy Point, there is much to do for recreation at the resort. One could play tennis, golf or relax on the beach. We had access to two pools. The smaller pool in the Breezy Recreation Center was the most active. It was set up for pool volleyball and seemed to be the popular hangout for teens. There was an arcade with a pizza place there. The Recreation Center also holds the Marina Restaurant and bar. This is the hub for nightlife at the resort.

High Village is another section of Breezy Point and it has a larger pool which was our favorite. There were plenty of other people there, but it wasn’t quite so loud and wild and our children seemed to enjoy it better. Both pool areas have hot tubs and there is towel service at the Rec Center.

Breezy Point Resort is very spread out. We used our car to travel the one mile to the Rec Center area on evenings. One could also call the resort bus service and use it to get around.

There was a full menu of activities for adults and children throughout the week including sandcastle building, horse wagon rides, bonfires, ice cream socials, facial makeovers, and crafts.

Our week at Breezy Point White Birch was very enjoyable, and we’d recommend the resort to anyone.

White Birch at Breezy Point

Best Things Nearby:
The resort is located within the Lakes region of the state. It is situated on the shoreline of Pelican Lake, and no matter which way you drive from there, you will see lakes all around you. We visited in late September and enjoyed the fall foliage. An interesting day trip is to Itasca State Park to view the headwaters of the Mississippi River.

Best Things About the Resort:
Breezy Point is located in the part of the state known for its lakes, so depending on the time of year, many different water activities are available.

The resort has two golf courses on site, which are not crowded and are quite user-friendly. Early morning walkers can find some beautiful scenery on a stroll from hole 10 through 18 on the course located at White Birch.

Resort Experience:
Breezy Point Resort is located near the community of Pequot Lakes in north-central Minnesota. The resort is quite large, encompassing several hundred acres and located in at least three different locations around and near Pelican Lake. Breezy Point has several different timeshare condominium accommodations, including Breezy Point International, Breezy Point Timeshare, and White Birch.

Our accommodations were at White Birch. We were assigned unit number 880, located along the 18th fairway of one of the two golf courses on the Breezy Point property. Our unit sits almost halfway from the tee box to the green and affords us a perfect view of tee-off all the way to the final approach shot to the green. The building we are in is a four-plex, with two units up and two units down. We are in the upper left unit, as seen from the parking area. From the look of the layout of this building, the unit we have is probably the biggest. Our unit has two levels, with the master bedroom and bath on the upper floor and the second bedroom and bathroom, living room, kitchen, and dining room on the main level. We have two outdoor decks, one on each level and both with great views of golf and the surrounding area. The view beyond is woodsy with lots of trees and sky.

There is a gas/log fireplace located in the living room. Although it has a blower, it seems mostly ornamental. As far as keeping in touch with the outside world, there is an internet-connected computer next to the registration desk in the office. There is no charge for using it. Hooking up through telephone lines is more difficult as the local calling area is very limited, so you may not have a good number through your internet service provider.

To load up on supplies for your trip, I would suggest stopping in Brainerd or Baxter, where numerous larger markets and stores can be found. Beer, wine, and distilled spirits must be purchased in liquor stores.

The resort offers a good deal to timeshare owners and exchangers for golf. The price for unlimited golf for the week is $110, plus $65 for the cart for the week.

If antique hunting is in your blood, then a stop in Crosby is a good bet. They have at least nine shops in town. We thought the stock was good and the prices fair.

There is so much to do in this state, depending on when you visit. You can ice-skate, ride a snowmobile, and ice fish in winter, or water ski in the summer, and hike and golf just about anytime of the year. The state has developed several multi-use lengthy, scenic trails for public enjoyment.

Best Things Nearby:
Snow sports: cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, snowmobiling, ice skating, and ice fishing. Beautiful scenery of a Minnesota northwoods in wintertime. Peace and serenity.

Best Things About the Resort:
Excellent condition, large rooms, very comfortable sleeping, and easy accessibility.

Resort Experience:
We stayed in one of the chalets on the Whitebirch portion of Breezy Point resort. Breezy features a wide variety of lodging options from small economical units to these gorgeous full-fledge homes.

Our unit included a lockout unit. The main portion consisted of a large kitchen, dining room and living room off of the kitchen. Gas fireplace in living room, downstairs bedroom with two twin beds -- great for the kids. Nice large entryway (for shoes, boots, snowclothing). Upstairs master suite with king size bed. Full bath up and down stairs. Upstairs bath off master suite has corner-type whirlpool bath. Large closet and storage space throughout.

Lockout unit consists of a second full kitchen with smaller dining area and nice sized living room off of the kitchen. Gas fireplace in this room as well. Second master suite has king size bed.

Both living rooms in the unit had pull-out couches and 27" TVs with VCR and stereo. We brought along our own DVD player for movie nights by the fireplace.

Both the main and lockout units have washer and dryers.

The rooms are well cared for and beautifully decorated. We brought along a small Christmas tree to add to a festive holiday spirit as we were celebrating Christmas on our vacation.

The chalets are located in the Eagles Nest portion of the Resort. Breezy Point has the large main portion containing the pools, Marina, Marina bar and grill, convention center, one of the golf courses, and many of the housing units. Outside this main area is the newer Whitebirch golf course, the Eagles Nest area and many other units on the Whitebirch fairways. (Our unit is located on the Traditional (original) golf course.

There are two pool areas. One is located in the marina building. This pool is smaller and quite crowded, but fun. It is set up for games of pool volleyball and there is a nice-sized hot tub (18 person?) and a smaller kid-sized wading pool (also nice sized) next to it. This area has a moderate sized game area with everything from video games to billiards and ping pong. There is a second pool in the Hilltop portion of the resort which is quite close to the marina portion. This pool is larger and much newer. It had a much cleaner feel to it. It was also much less crowded and seemed huge with the larger size and lesser crowd. It also has a nice large hot tub and a large kids pool. A strange quirk for this pool is that towel service is available only at the marina pool. You must pick your towels up at that pool and bring them to the Hilltop pool.

Breezypoint has an ice arena for ice skating. This is a great place for kids and adults to try it out -- skates are available. Admission is $1.50 per person, but we received a coupon for free admission (for our entire party) when we checked in.

On the lake there is an ice skating rink set up as well as a snow golf course--you hit tennis balls with real clubs! While we were there, we saw snowmobile radar runs. It is exciting to see snowmobiles go 100mph. The fastest run of the day toped 185mph!

Check-in and check-out was very easy.

We prepared much food in the unit. They were well stocked with cooking utensils. We also ate at the Antlers restaurant--fine dining (on the Whitebirch golf course) as well as at the Marina bar and grill--much more of a bar feel.

We did a lot of snowshoeing on the golfcourse itself and on nearby trails. We also climbed the nearby fire tower for an awesome view of the area and shopped the many interesting shops in the nearby town of Nisswa.

I spent several hours reading by the fireplace for a very relaxing and serene part of my vacation. It was also very enjoyable to play some board games (some are in the unit, we brought others) with my children (8, 6, 4).

During a portion of our stay, many from our family joined us for a Christmas celebration. The unit easily handled the hustle and bustle of a gift exchange and a meal for 18. That particular night, we had 11 sleeping in the unit. It was comfortable for everyone.

We had a very enjoyable time and I'd recommend it to anyone.
