This is a wonderful hotel. This is where Howard Carter used to stay when he was excavating on the West Bank.

The rooms are very comfortable with air-conditioning and a fridge. A nice man comes to turn down your bed every night and leaves you a little chocolate mint on the pillow!

The gardens at the back are magnificent.

This was the old hotel utilized by the British Army Staff and other gentry, It is old-fashioned but still quite elegant. As one walks the red carpeted hallways and sees the high-ceilinged rooms one can almost see the old British Colonels and Generals with their Ladies walking along. The room faced the Nile and it was wonderful to watch the sunset across the river in a glowing red ball. Service was good and the room very comfortable and quite large.
