When going to Rothenberg, which is probably the best place to buy any German souvenirs, you have to stay at the Castle Colmberg. It has been converted into a hotel with modernized rooms, some even have a whirlpool bath in the room. If you get there in time for dinner they have an excellent restaurant that features local fare. They also have the best venison I have ever eaten, the meat melted in your mouth. Breakfast was included with the cost of our rooms. Will definitely stay there next time we go.
