Best Things Nearby:
It's close to downtown so it's in the middle of the action. You can take a walk around or about 3 blocks away you can go into the Mirador and take a look into the city.

Best Things About the Resort:
The onsite restaurant is great – good food, clean, and not that expensive. Some famous people (Cantinflas, Maria Felix) have stayed there!

Resort Experience:
Spacious. They're big units with living room area and a patio overlooking the city and the pool. It's the closest RCI resort to downtown. The bath is big as well, and a pretty big closet!

The resort is very nice and very intimate, which means exclusivity. Since it's a small resort, it's clean and quiet. They have a very good restaurant, which doesn’t have much variety, but serves really good food. The only problem is the pool is not heated, so if you're going there in autumn or winter will be very cold; but in general is a great resort.

EVERYTHING IS CLOSE BY!!!! You have to climb about 100 steps every single day!

Best Things About the Resort:
The best about this place is the decorations and the service -- the staff really looks forward to helping you. The units are clean and nice, but SMALL. We were three adults it was a little crowded. The pool is nice, but who wants to swim in this beautiful town?!

Resort Experience:
The construction is like an old hacienda with hundreds and hundreds of steps!!! This is ok if you are in good shape, but this place is not handicapped friendly! The view from my room was awesome. The gardens are in very good shape and are very relaxing to walk through in the evenings. As I said, the units are small and bathroom was not the best part of it, but who cares?! I was in one of the most beautiful places in world!!!! SAN MIGUEL IS AN AMAZING PLACE!!!

EVERYTHING! You have to visit this place!

Best Things About the Resort:
The location is excellent -- it is right in town on the top of a hill so you have the best view you can get. The resort is very well kept, the gardens are great and the pool is O.K.

I don't know why this is only a standard resort -- I think it deserves to be an INTERNATIONAL DISTINCTION RESORT at least.

Resort Experience:
There is only one problem (not for me) about this resort: STEPS, LOTS OF STEPS!!! To my room, there were 123 large steps, so it is very exhausting for some people to climb so many steps, but if you’re in shape and you want the best view possible, it's really worth it.

The units are spacious and clean, very Mexican style. The bath is large and you have a great big balcony where you can eat while you check the view. This resort only has one-bedroom units for 5 people (privacy for 4 people) -- but BEWARE! This place sleeps 4 PEOPLE MAXIMUM! We were 4 people and a baby and it was crowded for us, so I recommend you to leave the mother-in-law behind!!!

Central Plaza and Central Mercado of San Miguel de Allende. Local bus stop is 100 feet from front of resort.

Best Things About the Resort:
The view was amazing esp at night and early morning. You can see the town below.

Resort Experience:
It's a distinguished resort up in the hills above the town. There were about 12 flights of stairs up to our unit, so it is not an easy walk unless you are in great shape. But the view was worth it. Nice one-bedroom unit, very well-decorated and pristine. Beautiful brick ceiling and balcony. It was a great unit.

We ate at the resort's restaurant and service was very slow. Food was ok, but not memorable.

We had no problems with resort other than with the night staff. We had our passports locked in the safebox and the night personnel couldn't find them the morning of our departure. We had to help him locate the safebox. It delayed us 30 minutes, but luckily we found them in good enough time to avoid missing our plane.

Best Things Nearby:
Pretty much everything is within walking distance from Posada. You must and I mean you must take at least a day trip to Guanajuato. (Check out my journal: Guanajuat: Home to Diego Rivera.)

Best Things About the Resort:
Since Posada is pretty much at the top of San Miguel, the resort offers its vacationers breathtaking, panoramic views. I spent many afternoons and early evenings on the tile porch just relaxing and admiring the multi-colored backdrop of San Miguel. The restaurant was great. We never found anyone at the resort who spoke English, but we survived. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable. It was at the restaurant at Posada that I discovered my new favorite Mexican food: chilaquiles! I'm on a search here in Indiana to find a restaurant that serves chilaquiles; if not, I'm determined to cook them myself.

Resort Experience:
Apparently, Posada La Ermita was once the home of a famous Mexican movie star. Upon entering the resort, you know you are in "Real Mexico," with authentic Mexican art adorning the walls and everyone speaking Spanish. (Take Spanish lessons prior to going to Mexico, or bring along an English-Spanish dictionary, like us.) An older gentleman took our bags and we began "the Ascent": steps, steps, and more steps, until we found ourselves at our unit. We offered our gracious helper a nap after his strenuous workout, but I don't think he understood and opted for the monetary tip instead. The climb is worth it (and I'm exaggerating!). From our unit, the view of San Miguel couldn't have been more beautiful. The grounds were very well kept: green grass, cactus, beautiful courtyards, colorful pottery, and a small pool. We visited all the RCI resorts, and Posada by far is in the best location.
