The Fairmont Dubai is the sister hotel to The Plaza Newyork. When you enter the foyer, you see endless fountains, really comfortable seating, beautiful bar, and smiles on everyone's faces. The rooms are extremely spacious, each with wonderful views of the city. The rooms are very well-equipped with TV, VCR, satellite channels, fax, and email as well as a modem line. There is a fully stocked mini-bar, but you're warned to stay clear of this - very expensive! A lovely touch was the frest fruit in the room every morning.
There are two pools on the ninth floor of the hotel at either side of the building. While relaxing by the pool, the waiters bring around fresh glasses of water every 20 -30 minutes and fresh fruit on sticks every hour, a great touch.
There is a spa and various therapies available at the Fairmont, but they are quite expensive.
The restaurant in the Fairmont is famous throughout Dubai, people come from all over to eat there, but I decided not to, I wasn't willing to pay $7 for a bowl of cornflakes, so I wouldn't even contemplate ordering a salad!!! Expremely expensive.
Every night the hotel had a light show, every corner of the outside of the hotel light up in all the colors of the rainbow, a beautiful and amazing sight that can't be missed.
