We found other people's clothing in drawers, dirt in the refrigerator, used ice cream in the freezer, a Poise undergarment under the bedspread, dead bugs along the windows and sliding glass door, and a damaged medicine cabinet in the bathroom. We were also missing a vacuum cleaner and blender and had to wait until the next day for that since the office was closed three hours after first available check in time. When the staff was told about the housekeeping problems we got excuses and not much else. The restaurant also did not open until Thursday, so don't plan on eating on site unless you bring food. There are only charcoal grills available if you plan to grill.

Best Things Nearby:
Waterfalls, cute towns, and antique shops. Tallulah Gorge. Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, is worth taking a day to see.

Best Things About the Resort:
Lots of room, great kitchen set up. We had a one-bedroom with loft and deck. Washer and dryer conveniently in unit.

Resort Experience:
Sky Valley is lovely, and rather isolated, about 20 minutes up a winding road from the main highway. Pool has a great view. Golf course very nice as reported by my husband. A great place to get away from it all. Ate in often as many places served breakfast and lunch and closed by 5pm. We like to eat later, so ended up eating in most nights.

Best Things Nearby:
Dillard house has great food. I recomend Breakfast or Lunch. The mini shoping mall should not be missed.

Best Things About the Resort:
Huge waterfall on site. Large outdoor pool. Nice tennis courts and golfing on site. Small ski hill on site. This resort even has a church on site.

Resort Experience:
The resort has done many changes for the better. They are working on trying to get RCI Resorts of International Distinction award. I think that they may get it in a year or two. They have plans on enclosing the pool and heating it for winter use, and they are in the process of new owners buying the resort and fixing it up even more.

I was impressed with what I saw there. I looked at rooms in Tanglewood and Cypress Point, and they're very clean and up to date. Units had one king bed downstairs, and two twin beds in a cute loft each with its own bathroom, full kitchen, dining room, and fireplace. Resort has plenty of amenities, such as skiing, golfing, spa, sauna, workout room, and a large waterfall on site.

I might be a little biased since I am an owner. I visited the resort for the first time and was so impressed that I bought three more weeks there. I would rate this resort a 8.

Our three bedroom, two and one-half bath chalet was located half way up the ski slopes. Since my sister and her beau had backed-out at the last minute, we had lots of room for the two of us. The chalet was well equipped with the necessities. We enjoyed home cooked meals rather than brave the evening cold. After dinner I retired to the balcony in order to watch the fun on the slopes. My husband in ever pursuit of that PhD. spread his papers and laptop before the warmth of the fireplace.

The resort also has a library, a fitness room, a golf course, a chapel and a swimming pool. We made good use of the library, but did not use the other facilities.
