Description: We stayed here for two nights between Christmas and New Year. We did not decide to go until a few days before, so available accommodation was sparse. After looking at the hotel's website, we chose to stay in a four-poster room called Casals of which there is a photo on their site.
When we arrived we had to maneuver our car into a very tight parking space – the website promised parking for all guests, but what it doesn’t say is that the parking area is alongside the house and is very tight. Our check-in went smoothly and we were shown to our room.
At first I was disappointed, as the room appeared smaller than it had on the website photo – good use of camera angles! Also, the bathroom was in need of a facelift. However, the bed was a large queen and, as promised, a four-poster. We also had a couple of chairs, dressing table, drawers, wardrobe, kettle with tea- and coffee-making, and of course a TV, which was on the small side. The view was to the garden, which looked very nice.
The breakfast consisted of a small continental buffet – cereals, pastries, juices, etc. You could then choose from full English, poached eggs, etc. Very nice breakfast.
The hotel is located approx. 10-minute walk from the city center and all the local sights so is very handy for attractions such as the Royal Baths, etc.
All in all, I feel that the room was nice, bathroom OK, breakfast good, but was on the expensive side. Staff were very friendly.
