Dont Bother!

Stayed here for four nights the utility charge is £35 so be warned. You ahve to pay this up front with a £50 deposite when you arrive.
The log cabins are actually split into 3 so you may enter from the fron or rear for a one bedroomed unit. We entered from the fron and looked onto a brick wall, we were orginally offered a rear entry with no natural daylight.

The furniture & fittings are of a very poor quality, and very dated. A portable tv with 4 channels one of which is in welsh. The kitchen had no dishwasher or washer/dryer. We were OK as it was July and warm but there is only one panel heater to heat the unit.

The hotel bar closed at 10pm on a Monday evening, the food in the hotel was nothing special, and they were unable to do dinner one evening due to a power failure!

Graig Park Village

Best Things Nearby:
Conwy Castle, Bodnant Gardens, Snowdonia National Park, beach at Llandudno (cold!), shopping in Chester, England, Pistyll Rhaeadr (highest waterfall in England and Wales).

Best Things About the Resort:
Very nicely furnished, large indoor swimming pool and exercise area, 3 bathrooms in unit, reasonably-priced restaurant

Resort Experience:
The units are individual log cabins set on a hillside on the edge of the small village of Dyserth. Depending on which unit you are assigned, there are quite a few stairs to climb from the car park at the bottom of the hill. Each unit has a front porch. You could see all the way to the ocean from ours.

The grounds are well kept with a beautiful lighted fountain at the entrance.

The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. The refrigerator was small with a very small freezer compartment. We took ice trays from the US and were glad we did. There were only 2 tiny ones provided, and we 4 Southerners from the US like ice in our drinks.

Some units have a dishwasher, but ours had a combination washer/dryer. While this machine will wash and dry your clothes, it takes a very long time to do a small amount of wash. They asked that you turn the hot water heater off when you would not be using it so we turned it off each morning when we left for sightseeing and turned it back on when we got home in the late afternoon. Also turned it off during the night. It took about 20 min. to heat water.

We did our grocery shopping mainly at Safeway in Colwyn Bay--about 20 minutes away. There is a very small market in Dyserth. Gasoline was available also.

The 2-bedroom unit had 3 bathrooms--one with each bedroom and another off the dining area. The bathrooms off the bedrooms were very small with a shower. The bathroom off the dining area was larger with a tub and a heated towel bar. (Towels did not dry during the day unless you hung them over a heating vent.) We did have a problem with one toilet leaking, and it took a day for someone to come fix it.

The pool, exercise room, restaurant are in a club-like building with a pleasant lounge area. There was live music at least one evening during the week.

The resort did offer transportation to various area attractions throughout the week, but we didn''t use any of them since we had rented a car in London.

  • Unit Type: 2 Bedroom
  • Activities: Very Good
  • Amenities: Excellent
  • Unit Satisfaction: Excellent
  • Family Friendliness: Excellent
  • Service: Very Good
