Best Things Nearby:
Village Market, Sparky's Restaurant

Best Things About the Resort:
Quiet, well maintained with spacious accommodations

Resort Experience:
We awoke each morning to the sound of wild turkeys looking for handouts. If the real turkeys weren't clucking, the neighbors were gobble-gobbling from their balconies to get their attention. Other than that, the place was quiet and very comfortable. We choose the upper two-bedroom unit and were glad we did because the views of the golf course were really nice. The orientation is well worth going to for information about the island and the opportunity to get discounted activities. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Best Things Nearby:
Good restaurants and Spencer Beach Park, a fabulous, calm beach that only the locals seem to go to.

Best Things About the Resort:
Clean, quiet, and very spacious accommodations.

Resort Experience:
Paniolo Greens is north of Kona about 45 minutes in Waikoloa Village. This is a very quiet little village with limited nightlife. Great Irish pub, food store, and some shopping along with a terrific-looking golf course.

The pool at Paniolo gets busy in the afternoon and tends to have lots of kids, which makes the pool area quite noisy--bummer if you want to read, relax, and tan.

Grounds are very well kept, and the staff is friendly and gracious. If you want a vacation with lots of activities nearby, Waikoloa Village is not for you--better to stay in the Kona/Keahou area. If you like a more remote area, this is for you!

Blue Hawaiian Helicoters has a helipad about 10 minutes from the condo. Don't cheap out, take the two-hour helicopter tour to Kilauea volcano! You cannot get anywhere near the actual volcano on a ground tour. When we reached the cone of the volcano, it was actually spewing lava in huge splashes and spurts. According to George, our pilot, there was an earthquake in October/November that collapsed the underground lava tubes, causing the lava to back up and blow out the cone--way cool!

Thw weather in Waikoloa is predictably hot and sunny daily and we enjoyed temps around 83 -85 degrees every day.

If you want more adventure, contact Jack's Dive Locker and take a night dive to swim with manta rays. We only snorkeled on the trip (we're not certified divers), but to see one of these rays is unbelievable!

Enjoy your time on the Big Island--aloha!

Golfing, small shopping plaza.

Best Things About the Resort:
The units were clean, peaceful, and very paniolo (cowboy) in decor.

Resort Experience:
The timeshare is far away from anything other than the plaza and golf course, and a rental car is a must. Having said this, you can get to all of the Waikoloa area things that are worth seeing in 15 minutes or less.

If you like golf, you will have a discount ticket while staying in the resort. It's in the center of the island. Within 30 minutes you can go to COSTCO to pick up you foods and eat some food in the restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort is well-maintained and located in the nice place. It has a nice ocean view and mountain view. There's only a small pool and a Jacuzzi. There are some interesting programs in the resort center, but they all have a minimal charge. My wife did draw a coconut painting as a gife. It's still in my bathroom. Our unit is a two bedroom unit and it have a lot of storage area. The kitchen is well stocked and well designed. The laundry unit is upstairs.

Resort Experience:
The resort is in the center of everything. You can enjoy the whole island by driving around, but you need to be careful about your gas level. Some areas are hard to find gas in. I will suggest to get everything for the Costco, including the gas. It's much cheaper over there. Plus you can buy your gifts in the K-Mart around Costco. It's very reasonably priced.
