After checking in, the elevators are to the left and there are different elevators depending on which floor you are staying on. This was done to speed things up. Some elevators only service the lower floors, while others service the upper, so you will not be stuck stopping on every floor. The elevators always seem really quick. When arriving in the room, they are also accented in gold. The bathrooms are a nice size, with large vanities and all the faucets in gold. The bedrooms have nice beds and televisions. Some rooms have a view of the Mississippi River.
The hotel has a nice indoor pool and hot tub. It is really nice and neat-looking, and is made of rock and has a waterfall. They also have an exercise room and spa.
The casino is connected to the building and is really a nice size. It is two stories and offers slots and tables. They also have complimentary drinks for players, and there is a bar area.
The casino has three restaurants and also a food court. They have a nice steakhouse I haven’t visited and a café that I have eaten at, and it is nice and has a really good breakfast. They also have a really good buffet. The buffet offers a wide variety of foods, including seafood, a salad bar, a dessert bar, and then vegetables and meats. They staff has always been very friendly.
During one trip, we had business meetings here, and the business rooms were really nice. My only complaint was the lunch that came with it was actually cold sandwiches. I expected something a little more than that.
I have returned to this hotel many times and will continue.

The Gold Strike rooms are luxurious and are furnished with either one king or two queen sized beds. The tv is contained within a rich, dark wood armoire that has three drawers for your personal belongings. A writing desk with chair, a nice club chair for sitting and relaxing, a full length mirror, as well as an ironing board and iron are standard room amenities. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are also available. A stunning view of the Mississippi River can be seen from some rooms and should be requested at the time your reservation is confirmed.
The bathrooms at the Gold Strike are without a question the nicest! They are oversized and make you feel like you are worth a million bucks! The vanity top is black granite which truly highlights the lavoratory's gold fixtures. The tub/shower walls are marble tiled, complete with gold faucets and an adjustable shower head. The floors are also marble tiled. Found on the vanity top is the standard four cup coffee maker (with complimentary coffee samples) and the drinking glasses are even placed upon gold colored dollies!! A hair dryer completes the standard amenities.
The Gold Strike's indoor pool/hot tub area is surrounded by rock formations and the waterfalls create a tropical paradise atmosphere. After 6 p.m. the pool area is for adults only. This trip found us getting up at 6:30 a.m. for a trip down to the pool/hot tub and was it ever worth getting up early for!! The two hot tubs were so inviting and the water was so warm that after a few minutes, we had to leave it for the coolness of the pool. The pool and one hot tub has a waterfall flowing into it, and my husband commented that the falling water would probably provide a great back and shoulder massage!! What a wonderful suggestion that was, and I didn't even have to pay $45 for the half hour massage!!
The exercise room is separate from the pool area and is equipped with weights, tread mill, stationary bikes, and has two color tv's to occupy you while exercising! A sauna room is located within the exercise room. A bathroom/changing area is available for your convenience as well as small storage lockers.
The Gold Strike Hotel is one of the nicest hotels in Tunica. Room rates are $49 during the week and range from $89 - $109 on weekends. Book your reservation early as most weekends are sold out. For more information or to book reservations online go to Gold Strike Casino Resort.

The Gold Strike buffet is my favorite in town, and features an excellent grill with roast beef and New York strip steaks daily. The casino downstairs offers live bands and all table games except baccarat.
Both Gold Strike and its next door neighbor (Horseshoe) are very popular, particularly on weekends, so it''s sometimes hard to get a spot to play at active tables. But the total experience is usually as good or better than any of the other casinos in the area.
If you go in the winter, this is definitely the best place to stay, as they have the only indoor swimming pool in town. I haven''t been disappointed yet. It's a pretty sure bet that you won't be either.
