Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort

We chose to stay at this resort on our visit because it had great reviews and was a little more remote than others in the area. It's located about 25 miles north of Albuquerque near a town called Bernalillo. It's actually located on the Santa Ana Pueblo. We were not disappointed. The facilities are excellent. They had a little of everything, the rooms were great and well appointed, they had a great pool area (with three pools), the onsite restaurants and lounge offered good food and service, they had the Twin Warriors golf course on the premises, and horse stables.

The view from the outdoor lounge patio is awe inspiring! There is an unobstructed view of the Rio Grande River basin with Sandia Peak in the background. It was a great place to settle for the evening and have a couple of drinks while you relax and watch the skys change color as the sun sets. They really do look like someone has painted the skys.

We would recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Albuquerque area.

Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa

The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa is awesome! Fly into Albuquerque Airport. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes north of the airport, 40 minutes south of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and 20 minutes from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fantastic location!

I'm guessing on the prices. I'm a Diamond member with the Hyatt, so we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a mountain view, and had Regency Club privileges...breakfast in a.m., and light fare in the evening. The property is very well-maintained, with beautiful pools, a walking trail along the Rio Grande river, and extremely high quality service levels. The food choices on property were varied enough that we didn't leave the resort for 2 1/2 days! The resort provided a silence and seclusion that we haven't experienced since our stay at the Hyatt Resort on Kauai! Very good getaway place! One day, they were baking bread outside in the ovens (local women come from the reservation to do these demonstrations) so we sat by the pool, eating delicious bread with chili butter! What a memory! And, what a different experience. Great gift shop on site, which was not overpriced, as many hotel shops are. This was a great place, and we'll definitely return!
