This is 20 miles from Northampton, but in a private and wooded area. We were delighted with the garden off the back deck and enjoyed our coffee each morning on the deck. The wood stove was too complicated for us, but we were quite content with the baseboard heat. One of our questions had been if it would be too warm, but even in August it was not!
There were two spacious bedrooms, a jet-powered tub, and plenty of room to snuggle and watch TV. The kitchen set-up is adequate. What you'll love best are the surroundings. Hummingbirds visited daily, the flowers were in bloom, and who could resist a climb to the top of a high rock face for a picnic lunch? Paths are mown into the tall grasses to guide you on walks, and oh-so-charming instructions include "turn left at the wind chimes." There is an apple orchard, although we never made it that far in our exploration of the property.
The beds are comfortable. The TV is great for evening watching. During the day you won't want to be inside. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the back deck is, and the enclosed front porch is a great place to curl up with an evening snack when the bugs get more demanding.
It was very relaxing. We made a stop in Northampton on our way back for lunch and enjoyed a stroll on Main Street. As an added bonus, we saw a black bear cub cross the road on our drive back to town! I'll be back!
