Big Meadows Campground

Big Meadows is the largest campground at the park. Its over 200 sites, its one of four campgrounds in the park, and it was my last choice. It was the only one that had availability when we were there. With that said this campground was surprisingly nice, we were able to get a walk-in sight which worked out well, as I was far enough away from people not be constantly bothered by RVs and screaming children. I should point out that like the rest of the park, the campsite was overriden with deer. There were two dear standing where I was going to put my tent when we arrived. This may not be the popular opinion but two of my biggest pet peeves at campgrounds are RVs and people burning wet wood. Big Meadows was rampant with both of these, nothing like a 50 foot bus barreling around a campground full of smoke to make you feel at home with nature for some I suppose.
