Best Things About the Resort:
There was daily housekeeping, and all staff were friendly and helpful. What attracted me immediately was the PC with internet connection.
Resort Experience:
The resort is small, essentially just one block of apartments with a tiny pool and other facilities at ground level. Once we had checked in and explored the extent of the grounds, my husband and I looked at each other and said, "That's it?" After our previous experiences with sprawling resorts in Australia and New Zealand, the size of the place was a disappointment. To be fair, that was the only complaint we had about the resort, and on hindsight, we could hardly expect a sprawling country resort in a city centre.
Our 2-bedroom unit, while not huge, was comfortably spacious for a family, and equipped with everything needed. Our master bedroom had a full-sized writing table, king bed and an attached bathroom with a full bath and separate shower cubicle. The smaller bedroom had two twin beds, and the other bathroom had only a shower cubicle. A plus were the hotel-style tiny bottles of bath supplies in both bathrooms. Also hotel-style, there was daily housekeeping service, which we didn't need daily but appreciated on the two days that we let them in. They changed all our towels both times.
Our unit was on the third level, with reception and the only exit out of the resort on the fifth, so we had a fair bit of exercise on the stairs over the week. Which was fine for us, especially after a day of gastronomic indulgence in KL city, but would have been a problem for the old and less physically able. There was an elevator, yes, but it didn't stop on the reception level. Neither did it stop exactly on the level of the pool and snack bar. You had to walk up/down at least a half-flight of stairs to get anywhere.
Amenities-wise, there was the tiny pool, a fully-equipped gym and a table-tennis table at ground level. Oh, and the internet-connected PC in the small library next to reception. We were quickly bored on the day that we decided to relax at the resort and not go out. We couldn't even take a stroll outside the resort, because it was next to a highway and there was nothing within walking distance. You definitely need a car to get out of the resort, but fortunately, taxis are easily called from reception.
One tip: ask reception to specify metered fare when calling a taxi. When you flag down a taxi in the city, bargain either for metered fare or a fixed rate acceptable to you, BEFORE getting into the taxi. The Malaysian taxi drivers are not above taking tourists for a ride, as we were a few times before wising up.
