There is a spa, golf, horseback riding, and kayaking all close by. There are good restaurants nearby also. There is also a multi-denominational church close by and a convenient post office.
There is a grocery store nearby, but it's horribly expensive. We had to travel quite a distance for a reasonably priced grocery.
There is a pool and hot tub, but the pool was not usable. The water was too cold.
The unit was beautiful and very well-equipped. We would stay here again.
You are about 50 miles from Yellowstone.
I would not advise going to Virginia City. We went and a total waste of time. It is barely restored, the shops are not fun-type shops - it is like a big flea market.
Our experience here was good, and we would return.

The kitchen was large and very nice, with everything you could need. There was a large dining room as well. The living room was nice, with a cozy fireplace, and wood is provided. We spent a lot of time out on the patio, watching the beavers who live in the lake.
Overall, I would recommend this resort, but I would definitely recommend a top unit to avoid the noise.

The resort is surrounded by mountains, and there is a beautiful lake. Our patio overlooked both lake and mountains; it was a beautiful view.
If you stay at this resort, I would definitely recommend a top unit. We had a bottom unit and could hear everything the people upstairs did. It was very loud. I had read the other reviews of this resort (some were from a year ago), and there were complaints about the beds being hard and the bathtub drain backing up. This is still true; we also had to use the plunger for the toilet twice while we were there.
There is lots of room in the unit, and the kitchen and living areas are perfect.
The staff at the resort was awesome, all very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the pool and hot tubs as well.
The best parts of the trip were our white-water rapids ride with Yellowstone Rafting Company (upper-level ride), which was perfect for our kids who are 7, 10, and 14, and the trips we took to Yellowstone National Park. The kids were very excited by seeing all the wildlife standing right beside the road. It was beautiful.
We were on a tight budget, so we didn't go to any nicer restaurants, but LaLuna Mexican restaurant was very good, and the girls there were very friendly and gave us a few suggestions on what to do.

The units are clean and have large kitchens and nice furnishings. They also have a heated ski storage room by the front door for storing ski equipment. There are decks on each unit with gas grills. The staff is really helpful, and this place is really nice for families. There is a heated pool and two hot tubs at this complex. There are also several at Big Sky that can be used by Lake guests.

Splurge and ride the gondola no matter what the season. There is mountain biking and other extreme sports at other times of the year.
Best of all, Yellowstone National Park is 2 hours away. Go through both the north and west entrances to get two very different views of "America's jewel" in the crown of national parks. Wildlife, geology, and the wonders of nature abound. You owe it to yourself and family to go.

The heated pool and jacuzzi were just across the parking lot and can be enjoyed year-round. Overall, we were very pleased with the resort and would highly recommend it!

Dani's Inferno is great for an after ski drink, but go a little early before the last lift because it fills up fast. Do your grocery shopping in Bozeman. Shopping on the slope and in the convenience stores was expensive, and you don't have a good variety. Great ski school for the kids, too.
