Good Hotel Outside the City Center

  • February 19, 2008
  • Rated 3 of 5 by silence from Paderborn, Germany
The Sheraton is located just off the I-94 which makes it a nice accomodation for travellers who need good comfort for a night.
Downtown Minneapolis is just 15 minutes away by car. StPaul is just 30 minutes away.
It's nice to stay at as it offers luxury rooms, with recommandable beds, free high speed internetaccess, coffee machines and a large working area. It's a true business hotel.
The company I'm working for uses it for our quarterly business meetings. The Ballroom is offering enough space to host 400 people with good acoustics and equipment, such as projectors and projection walls.
The hotel offers free shuttle services within a 10mls range.
Close by you can find the Rosedale Center for shopping and entertainment. It takes you only 10 minutes to the beautiful restaurants at Mississippi river.

Four Points Sheraton

There aren’t many other hotels near the Four Points Sheraton, which makes it one of the only choices outside of downtown Saint Paul. Located just off of I-94, this hotel offers luxury at an affordable price. Rooms start at $89/night for a single king or double.

When you first walk into the Sheraton, you will find yourself crossing granite floors to speak with a friendly front-desk staff person. As you move towards the rooms, you walk past the indoor pool in the atrium. The hotel is four or five floors, and the atrium extends to the roof. Surprisingly, the noise from the pool and lobby is contained to those areas and doesn’t echo up.

The rooms themselves are large, but decorated like a typical hotel – paisley bedspreads and standard wood furniture. Each room comes with a small coffeemaker and several single-serve instant-coffee packets. The bathrooms are quite large, and some offer full bathtubs.

Amenities outside of the rooms are plentiful at the Four Points: fitness area, room service, a restaurant on-site (Cities Grill), and free parking are just a few. The parking is quite plentiful. In the two times my mother has stayed here, at least half of the lot has been open.

The Sheraton Midway was recently rehabbing its lobby and meeting space making it a bit incovenient. The guest rooms are spaceous and comfortable, but dated. They come with coffeemakers dataports. The slightly out of the way location makes the restaurant a frequent stop for lobbyists and legislators to grab breakfast before the legislative session. The staff is courteous and if you are hungry late in the night, there is a Hardies fast food restuarant open nextdoor. There is an indoor swimming pool in the middle of the hotel on the lobby level - proably a little too conspicuous for anyone other than a child.
