ST LOUIS WEST KOA

This KOA was great! It is on the other side of the interstate from Six Flags – so it was a short drive home after a long day of walking around the park. And a welcome home it was.

We had purchased a KOA card (for $10) so received a 10% discount off the price of the Kabin. I love their Kabins! We always get a one room cabin. They are small log cabin type buildings. It contains a ‘king-sized’ bed and a bunk bed. Since there are only the two of us, we take the very thin mattresses and double them up for a bit more comfort. You need to provide your own bedding (sheets, sleeping bag, pillows, etc). It is not ‘high style’, but very clean and comfortable. They have two windows, one in the back and one in the front, a small desk and chair, and a locking door. There is also at least one plug, usually by the desk. I just about live on the swing on the front porch. You can drive right to the front of the cabin and park there. There is also a picnic table with a small grill next to it.

The showers are located inside the respective bathrooms, and were very clean and tidy at all times. They have a small laundry, located on the side of the store. It has only 4 washers and 3 dryers, but they were all working well. There is also a small pool. It is located close to the entrance, and easy to see from many of the camp sites and Kabins.

This campground had a very nice reception/store. They had coupons for a nice discount on Six Flags. There is a small store with all the basic necessities (ice, soda, toothpaste, etc). There are also a couple of pinball machines, which I love so was a nice treat for me!

There is quiet time each night – it was from 10 PM – 7 AM while we were there. This KOA is a really nice place to stay, the people were great, and it is almost walking distance from Six Flags.
