The hotel is typical by European standards in that rooms are not large, but the hotel has been renovated and is nicely appointed. Most importantly if there in the summer is that it is air-conditioned! When the heat and humidity took their toll, the air-conditioning was most appreciated. Breakfast was included, with a small but decent variety. Also, the staff was most pleasant and helpful.
It would be nice to stay at the famed and domed Hotel Negresco down at the seafront, but the cost is far out of range for the average traveller. So, when in Nice again, I will definitely return to the Normandie.
