Best Things Nearby:
The harbor town of Christiansted is five minutes away across the harbor via the free continuously running ferry. It has great restaurants, galleries, and shops.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort is a private island (7 acres) with the only beach close to Christiansted. It feels secluded and safe.

Resort Experience:
It's a relatively small hotel -- only 55 rooms. It has only two levels, so there are no elevators. The studio we were in had two double beds, a fridge, a microwave, and a spectacular view of the beach and, across the harbor, the town of Christiansted. At night, you could hear the music from the bars across the water while you sat in peaceful solitude on a moonlit beach. The free ferry service to the harbor was available continuously except between midnight and 6am.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative was the resort restaurant, which was usually only open for breakfast and very basic. (Still, there were dozens of great restaurants a five-minute ferry ride away.) Once a week, the resort restaurant served a Caribbean buffet as part of a whole Caribbean festival night, which was great fun.

I was there with a diver friend, who liked the resort and the area so much that she bought her first timeshare there. We're planning a return trip in a few months.
