Best Things Nearby:
On the beach, however a lot of seaweed.
Best Things About the Resort:
Centrally located and can get to everything on the island from here.
Resort Experience:
We traded our space in Cancun in for this condo. This was supposed to sleep six with two bedrooms with a couch in the living room. The couch bed was a disaster and our daughter ended up just sleeping on the couch. The master bedroom was up a circular staircase to the loft and was nice but open. Open means the walls are missing to the bedroom AND the bathroom, so not much privacy. The second bedroom was small but adequate until the ceiling started leaking during a downpour. It leaked into the closet and not onto the bed, luckily. Maintenance and housekeeping were very poor.
On the positive side the condo was well equipped with dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, and pans. The toaster was clean and worked, as did the stove and refrigerator.
The club is not really a resort as much as it is a furnished condo with a pool on the beach. The pool is okay--clean but not spectacular--but it has a nice little shaded table that was good for reading and soaking at the same time. After inquiring a couple of times we did discover that they had a few sea kayaks that we used (free) for the day--once somebody could be found who had the key to the shed.
No organized activities or concierge and no poolside service. It seemed like a place where people working on the island live for a few months before finding a house or leaving.
