Club Ocean Villas II (#1353)

We chose Club Ocean Villas II because it was available as an extra vacation through RCI and it sounded the best of the choices available this week.
The unit was a two-bedroom but because it is marketed as being able to be used as a lockout, the result is that the master bedroom looks like a hotel room. It is rather small for a time-share master bedroom, which was disappointing.
This unit (194) happens to be on the street side of the resort. It has a courtyard with its very own outside jacuzzi, definitely its strongest asset! Ocean City rules stipulate that all hot tubs must be cleaned weekly so it was very clean and very enjoyable. We were able to sit in it during a snowfall which was wonderful.
The resort is OK, but not the best. We had a rather large snowfall during our time there and the sidewalks were barely shoveled and sanded only when we requested it, not automatically, and, believe me, the paths were VERY slippery.
The master bedroom had a king-size bed, a dresser, a closet, a TV, and a small table and two dining room-type chairs. The master bath had a whirlpool tub and a separate shower but was very small.
The second bedroom had a queen-size bed, a dresser, a closet, and a TV, but seemed slightly more spacious than the master bedroom. We didn't actually measure it, however.
The living room had a couch and an uncomfortable easy chair. There were also two hotel type chairs around a small table and a coffee table. The TV sat on a small entertainment-type cabinet which rattled every time you walked by it.
The second bath had a tub and shower and was rather small, too.
The unit had a washer and dryer which we did not use.
The kitchen had a breakfast counter, a large refrigerator, a stove, microwave, sink, and dishwasher but was rather small and had nothing spectacular to recommend it.
The indoor pool was a bit of a walk from our unit. It was a good size but I would not call it particularly clean. The white surfaces around the edges of the pool were grungy. We only used it once. The door to the pool is used as a passageway by the maintenance workers as their way to the office so it doesn't seem to be very private and of course in the winter, cold air comes in everytime they journey past!
There are no sponsored activities. Do NOT believe that the breakfast gathering on Monday morning is anything more that a sales pitch for this and other units. They advertised that we would get coupons for OC activities and learn about the area. We did not and when I questioned the sales guy, he told me to go to the Ocean City Visitor's Center for any information. So that is my warning for all who read this!

The location and the maintenance of the unit.

Resort Experience:
As mentioned before, we were there during the President's Day snowstorm of 2003. The staff there was very friendly and very attentive to our needs. Obviously, there weren't many people staying there, yet they had ALL the roads, parking spaces, and stairways cleared in a very timely manner!
