Best Things Nearby:
Scenic Caves, Wasaga Beach, Elmvale Zoo

Best Things About the Resort:
Two-bedroom condo unit was very spacious and housekeeping was very good.

Resort Experience:
This is my home resort, and I have not been there in 2 years since I purchased my time share. When we purchased it 2 years ago the resort was undergoing a 4-year, $16 million renovation plan. In 2 years I have not seen a lot done to justify the change. The front entrance to the resort has been done, putting green has been put in, and a tennis court. I would not consider this a family resort unless you want to lounge around the pool all day. There really is not a lot to do for a family at this resort, and what they do have costs money. The only free thing to do is swim. The restaurant is very small and very expensive, a lot of activities at the children's clubhouse cost money. We have four children and the vacation ended up being a lot more expensive than we had planned, as we had to leave the resort everyday to find things to do to entertain our kids.

Blue Mountain Ski Resort, town of Collingwood, with stores and restaurants nearby

Best Things About the Resort:
The size of the unit was very spacious: three floors, three bathrooms with lots of closet space, and seating areas. Jacuzzi tub in master bedroom. Walk-in shower in the second bathroom for the second bedroom.

Resort Experience:
We went to this resort with the knowledge that we would be staying in an older townhouse unit. When we arrived and went insid,e we were all very excited with the size. There were three floors. The first floor had a washer/dryer, bathroom, kitchen, dining room with table for eight, wood-burning fireplace, living room with two couches (a small TV), and a separate seating area with two rolling chairs and table by the fireplace, and three closets, all on the first floor. The second floor had a bedroom with two twin beds, no TV on this floor, bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a large seating area with table for reading or overlooking the cathedral ceiling, open concept to the living room and fireplace with two closets. The third floor had master bedroom with TV, Jacuzzi tub in the washroom, and three closets.

Best Things About the Resort:
great layout of condos
no one on top of your condo, therefore quiet

Resort Experience:
Some of the condos are new, others needed some TLC. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Spa staff included, although seemingly disorganized. Lots of family activities on site for those that are looking for it, yet private and relaxing for those who aren't. Many units have jacuzzi tubs in the master bathroom.

Best Things Nearby:
Collingwood is great for year-round tourism: in the winter, the skiing draws thousands to great downhill slopes at Blue Mountain; in the summer, there's an Elvis Festival in the town, and Wasaga Beach within a 10 minute drive; in fall and winter, there are great hiking trails, lots of golf, and the world-famous Blue Maountain Pottery Factory.

Best Things About the Resort:
The best feature of this timeshare is definitely the amount of space in each unit. The master bedroom is off on a level of its own for total privacy, the second bedroom has 2 twin beds and room on the floor for a sleeping bagged friend, and the living room has a huge pullout sofa. The jacuzzi in the unit is wonderful for relaxing after winter skiing, and just as good for relaxing after summer shopping! Each unit has a gas barbeque and big bright kitchen. Unfortunately, since the resort is so close to a fabulous beach and a large town, the on-site amenities (tennis court, indoor/outdoor pools, restaurant) don't hold all that much attraction. They're all nice, but there's just so much to do off-site!

Resort Experience:
Each of the units is part of a 3 or 4-unit townhouse, and really has all the amenities of home. The main floor of our unit has a spacious living room with bed-sofa, love seat and a couple of chairs, a nice big TV, a VCR and radio. The kitchen eating area seats 8 comfortably and faces out onto open parkland (or golf course) and a deck with a gas barbeque. All the tools you need to barbeque are in the kitchen, along with the usual appliances and plenty of dishes, glassware and utensils for 8. The unit has a full sized washer and dryer, so whether you need to rinse out swimsuits or do a full load of clothes, you don't have to pack tons of stuff to have a comfortable week. The secondary bedroom is on the second floor, along with a really nice bathroom and a separate Jacuzzi tub in it's own loft with big windows (blinds for privacy), so a couple of people can soak and not tie up a bathroom. The ensuite master bedroom is another half level up, and has a couple of comfy chairs and small balcony. We loved being able to get away from the kids and their friends, and they loved having the main level to themselves to watch TV or play video games after a day on the beach. The resort is quite small . . . since there are so few units, there are not a lot of people to meet during the day. If your kids are major socialites, you might want to bring along a friend or two (there's lots of room). If you want to get away from it all, you can certainly do it here.

Best Things Nearby:
Blue Mountain Ski Area (winter) Collingwood Scenic Caves, Wasaga Beach (summer), and many golf courses.

Best Things About the Resort:
Quiet, spacious rooms, on-site restaurant, extremely helpful staff, and best of all, the view of Blue Mountain at night all lit up for night skiing.

Resort Experience:
Our unit was a one-bedroom suite in the hotel building, but in a separate wing from the hotel rooms. As you walk in the unit, you enter the kitchen area, then progress to the dining area, then the living room. To the right (or left, depending on your unit) is the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom was large, with plenty of storage space for clothes and ski equipment. There is a large walk-in closet in addition to the standard coat closet, a deep whirlpool bath, and a separate vanity area so that one can dry hair, brush teeth, etc. while another is showering. The kitchen was fully appointed, including a microwave, dishwasher, stove, and fridge, all well-maintained and very clean.

There is a balcony off the main bedroom, and large floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living area, which both afforded a beautiful view of Blue Mountain Ski Area (5-10 minutes away).

The resort itself has a decent-size indoor pool and spa, although the pool was not very warm (even though it was heated). There is also an excellent workout room next to the pool area, accessed through the hotel area.

The onsite restaurant offers a sitdown breakfast as well as a buffet, and a delicious menu of dinner choices. There are also several restaurants within 15 minutes drive from the resort.

The resort staff was very friendly and helpful with all our requests, and have several trips planned during the week, as well as tons of activities onsite. There is also a "clubhouse" area where the kids can go and play inside, but out of Mom and Dad's hair (ages six and up). In the summer, there is an outdoor pool at the clubhouse, as well as a large playground.

At the current time (Feb '03), the resort is undergoing cosmetic renovations (painting, wallpapering, etc,) as it was just purchased by RHG, a corporate timeshare owners group. There is also construction on the resort grounds, to build a new entertainment complex (to include a new indoor pool, fitness center, four lane bowling alley, movie theater, another restaurant, and other activities). This will take this resort to the next level for guest services.

FYI - There are also free-standing condos on the property, which are for those guests looking for two+ bedroom units.
