I would not recommend anyone who needs a reliable room, especially late at night, goes to the Hotel Ajanta. My sister emailed and rang twice to reserve a room, and an airport pickup (she was arriving at 3am) and they assured her it was all confirmed. No-one at the airport when she arrived, and when she rang they told her they'd given her room to someone else who wanted to stay longer. She was then stranded in Delhi with nowhere to go in the middle of the night. So be warned!

Though I stayed at the hotel just for a night, I found the hotel very comfortable and peaceful. The interior of the hotel was very nice and cozy. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, Paharganj. The staff was very co-operative and helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel to my relatives and friends on their visit to Delhi.

The stay was convincing and there was nothing to complain. Cleanliness was well up to the mark and staff was helpful. The arrangement was systematic and room alloted to me was decent one. I also like the food. I will surely visit that hotel again.

Ajanta Hotel is a good option to consider for your first night in India, it’s a bit expensive for the area but the plus is the free pick up service to the airport, which in my experience was very reliable. My flight arrived at Delhi airport around midnight and it was really comforting to see that somebody was waiting for us with my name on a paper.I’ve read some reports about problems with overbooked rooms, even when my booking was made by email and without any advance payment, I didn’t have any problems. For further information visit www.hotelajanta.com.The room was clean and comfortable, private bathroom, television, air-conditioner and room service. The hotel has their own travel agency as well and the agents are really pushy trying to sell you an extra service. After I said "Thanks, but no thanks" the staff were less obliging. The street where this hotel is located is full of other hotels, with different levels of comfort and prices to boot! So if you have a tight budget it’s a good idea to book just one night, and personally visit and choose another option, there are no vacancies problems. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and we intended to come back for another 2 nights, so we requested that they store our luggage while we were away but surprisingly the staff’s attitude was negative, and not just about storing our luggage, their attitude was one of "if you don’t like it find another place to stay" and that was exactly what we did, we paid for a room in other hotel and left our luggage there, and even paying the two nights that we were away, it was cheaper than one night in Hotel Ajanta. This area is located 5 minutes on foot from the New Delhi Station, where the 6am train to Agra starts and the bazaars area "Pahar Ganj". Considering how early the train starts and the incredible traffic day and night, this area is a good place to stay. Conclusion:
Hotel: Good option for the first night, but because of the price and the staff it is not good enough to stay more than that.
Area: Highly Recommended.

I had a pleasant stay in Hotel Ajanta in room no. 203. I found the hotel using Google. I checked out any comments about the hotel on www.tripadvisor.com, which were all positive. My room was very good, and all of the staff was excellent. If you want to know any comments or opinions, then you can email me.
