Sulzenauer Hutte

The Sulzenau Hutte is a strange wedge shaped design, built in the hope that it would survive an avalanche should it be unfortunate enough to see one of the kind that effectively wiped its predecessor away in the mid-70's. Whilst the hutte is very modern in its appearance its shower facilities are very limited and getting more expensive (when available). The drying room is very good but suffers from extremely heavy use far beyond the capacity what is a rather small room. The boss of the Hutte is extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area, however the rest of the staff tends to be supplemented by students from nearby Innsbruck so are of limited use in offering detailed trekking information but excellent for details of the available nightlife when you finish your trek. Below the hut is the Sulzenau Alm which would be unremarkable except for its excellent wood carvings which can be found both throughout the garden and inside the building
