Couples Negril Rocks!

We have been to Couples Negril 5 times and have never had a bad time. We love the beach at Bloody Bay(bad name for a beach). I get up in the morning and go for a jog and then come back to lie on the beach and catch some Caribbean rays. The all inclusive vacation concept is great. Never have to worry about carrying money. We have been able to get great deals from http://www.allinclusiveoutlet.com/vacations/resorts/couples/couples-negril/
This hotel has everything you need. I want to try waterskiing next time we visit. The trip from the airport is really not that bad and Negril has the best water on the island.
Yah mon!

My husband and I vacationed at Couples Negril as our first real vacation together. We will probably never go anywhere else. Everything was amazing.... the food, the weather, the resort, the activites....everything! Staff are cheerful and happy to assist you. All you can eat and drink the entire stay is included in the price and best of all - no tipping allowed. The atmosphere is laid back. Some days we just ate, drank, and lounged. Other days we snorkled, went scuba diving, took the free catamaran cruise, or played some organized volleyball. Anyone who vacations in Negril should also visit the world famous Rick's Cafe. The food there is nothing special (and is much too expensive for the quality). But the locals put on quite an unforgettable show--- they jump from incredible heights into the water, flipping the entire way down. You have to see this to appreciate it! I highly suggest staying with Couples Negril. We're already planning another tip with several friends and cannot wait to return to our paradise!

Great Place to Relax

Couples Negril is a beautiful waterfront, all inclusive Resort. I had found a review of this property o/l. The poster said that it was his favorite of all the Jamaican resorts he had visited. He suggested that if this was your first trip to Negril to take the included shuttle, to the resort from the Montego Bay airport, so you could appreciate the country. He went on to say that he since has paid to take a commuter flight. I now know why.
The Resort was Fantastic in every way. The pictured pool bar was my favorite hang out.
Complimentary beverages were furnished to the beach goers which was nice towards the end of the trip. My only complaint was that when we went to their sister Resort, Couples Swept Away, we were informed that it would cost us $75 ea up front to "visit" the resort, When I explained that we just wanted to look around to see if we'd like to make it our next trip, they gave us a guided tour. Swept Away was a much larger, very spread out resort more suited to exercise
minded folks. We were glad to go back "home" to our "intimint"resort. I do wish we had been warned of the cost b4 we went.

My new husband and I went to Couples Negril for our honeymoon from September 6 to the 13.

On Wednesday, we realized that Ivan was headed straight for Negril and tried to get a flight back to the U.S., but the flights were already sold out and the Montego Bay Airport was closing Wednesday at midnight. Therefore, Jim and I were forced to stay on the resort.

We went through the night and, at about 8am Saturday morning, returned to our rooms when we felt the storm had passed and it was safe to return. As soon as we walked in our rooms, the resort lost power, water, and sewage (which none had turned back on when I had left on Monday afternoon). There was about 5 inches to a foot of water in my room that was blowing in through the shower window and under my door, along with leaves and twigs.

A staff member said, "We need to come and get you". Two staff ladies came and guided us back to the main hotel were we stayed until the hotel said it was now safe to go back to our rooms. Going back to our room, it was pitch black and my husband and I were trying to weave and feel our way back to the room. My legs got scratched to death by the trees that covered the sidewalk as we ventured in the wind and tried to reach Block 8, which was in the back of the resort. We couldn't see our hand in front of our face and I was scared.

So what makes me so angry about my experience in this hotel? Well after speaking with other couples on the resort, we found out on Monday that people who had complained enough about the conditions had been moved to the sister property, Couples Swept Away, which had power from their generator and water for an hour in the morning and evening. Finally, on Monday morning before we went to the airport, my husband and I found a faucet that you wash your feet off with at the beach that had a trickle of water. We took a bar of soap and some clean clothes (to use as a towel) and I got on my hands and knees and he helped me to somewhat wash my hair even though I got sand in it.

I got home on Tuesday, and, today, I went to the doctor to find out that I have contracted Montezuma's Revenge (Travelers Diarrhea) from a bacteria.

When I called the Couples main hotel in Miami yesterday to inquire about a refund for the four days of hell we went through, they informed me that if I stayed on the resort that there would be no refunds or vouchers for credit.

This is romantic, indulgent, and offers all the activities you wish to do. It’s highly recommended if your pocketbook can afford it. The rooms are nice. The air conditioner has a remote control! Bring CDs, as there is a CD-player as well. Do not pay for an ocean view upgrade as there is really no difference between the rooms -- chances are you may even get upgraded free if bookings are light. We prefer building one, which is close to everything, but in a quiet spot.

All-inclusive means just that -- no extra charges, tipping, etc. One can literally arrive at the resort with a $20 bill and leave with it. Just don't forget to tip those who may provide you service on your travels to and from the island that do not work for the resort.

The food is delicious and presented well at all three restaurants at the resort. Desserts are to die for! Tip: bring an insulated mug (24-32 ounces) for all the wonderful blended juice and rum drinks -- it keeps them cold longer and less trips to the bar!
