With rates that range from $130 to $150 during high season and from $95 to $115 during low season, Chapelle Street Casitas offers its customers reasonable prices(check out the website at www.staabvr.com for special prices). Each room has its own entrance from the street, and a continental breakfast is placed in the room the night before. Also, free street parking and cable TV is available with every room.
Owner Bruce Kuehnle (who owns two other properties around the area) is hard at work upgrading the property, including new paint jobs for all of the rooms. However, there are still some aspects of the Chapelle Street Casitas that don’t allow for the luxurious stay some may be looking for. While the original wood floors are a nice aesthetic touch, their creakiness and the thin walls don’t create the privacy seen in other B&Bs. Also, Casita B’s bedroom that opens directly onto a shared front patio is a bit awkward. Other small details, such as loose bathroom fixtures, are further drawbacks.
What the Chapelle Street Casitas offers travelers is a great location at good prices, but it doesn’t provide luxury.
