Best Things Nearby:
Manatee park was very interesting. There were at least 20 manatee swimming near the shore, some as close as about 5 meters away. Walking trips out to the pier at Jetty Park were fun too. We liked watching the huge cruise ships set sail and even saw a dolphin or two jumping at the nose of the ship near the mouth of the port.
Best Things About the Resort:
Where do I start? The lazy river and the water slide were tops on our list at the resort. The pool and splash area were very enjoyable too. My 4-year-old absolutely loved the indoor play area. By far, the view from our 4th floor ocean view villa was the best.
Resort Experience:
The property is beautiful and very well-laid-out, with a lot of room for future expansion.
Currently, there are two buildings: the main building, which houses all of the resort's amenities, the pools/water slide/lazy river, the mini-putt, the arcade, the playground, the theatre, and the restaurant; and the second building, about 500 meters away and right on the edge of the ocean. From our balcony (4th floor), we had a wonderful view of the entrance to Port Canaveral (about 500 meters away) and could easily see the huge cruise ships going out. The resort offers a shuttle that runs every 15 minutes that will take you back and forth between the two buildings, but most of the the time we enjoyed the short walk.
This resort is definitely one I will return to and recommend to my friends.
The only downfall was the sleeping facilities. Our unit was a sleeps eight in two bedrooms. I would not recommend this unit for more than two adults. We had four adults and three kids under 12 years old. The two double beds in the second bedroom are not big enough to sleep two adults (good thing I was able to catch an afternoon snooze poolside).
