Resort Experience:
Located right in the heart of Bushkill and the Delaware River Valley, the resort is spread over many acres. You do need a car in the area; however, the resort does have a bus service on its property. Indoor and outdoor pools are located in each section of the resort so they are within walking distance of your unit. Exercise rooms are also located in the area of the indoor pool. During their respective seasons, there is golfing on site and only a short drive is needed to the local ski hills. There is horseback riding on site ($25 per person for a 45-minute trail ride with a guide) and it is open year round.
The unit was very spacious with cathedral ceilings in the dining room and living room. The kitchen had a large working area and a separate eating area that was surrounded by windows to give maximum light and a very large feeling to be sitting in the little kitchen nook. The master bedroom had a king bed, fireplace, two-person whirlpool tub, 3/4 bathroom (with two sinks), and *SURPRISE* an en suite sauna that could sit four people. Upstairs, there are three sleeping areas and a full bathroom. The first bedroom has one queen bed, the second bedroom has two queen beds, and the loft area has two single beds. There are a total of four televisions in the unit. There is no radio, CD player, or tape deck in the unit (except for the alarms clocks). Although the unit could sleep 10 to 12 people, the living room area did not have enough seating for that many. It could only seat half the people -- about six.
The staff at the resort was very friendly. There is daily garbage. The driver would stop as I was having my morning coffee and chat briefly asking if there was anything need for the unit. The ladies who manage the indoor pool during the day were informative with area ideas of activities to do as well.
We only stopped once at the Juke Box Diner for ice cream, but enjoyed our time there with the staff being very friendly. The atmosphere makes one feel like they have returned to the late 1950s or early '60s era.
