Texas Timeshare in Lakeway

Best Things Nearby:
Lake Travis, and the city of Austin

Best Things About the Resort:
secluded, quiet, and cozy

Resort Experience:
The timeshare is older, and a bit shabby. The units are single "houses" that sit on a steep hill overlooking Lake Travis marina. The units have a private and cozy feeling once inside. It wouldn't be accessible for a handicapped person, and would be difficult for someone with bad knees.

Our unit had a fireplace, but we were there in September and didn't need any fires. There is a deck that goes around the house, which is nice for adults to access. It isn't safe for young children, as they could easily slip through the railing, and the only thing below was a very steep hill full of big rocks. We didn't use the deck because my 16-month-old grandson was too adventuresome, and we didn't want to take any chances.

It really isn't a resort geared to children. Most of the owners seemed older. There were no activities, and a one-person "staff." The staff person was nice, but not always accessible. It would be a nice place for someone who likes nature and a lot of privacy.

Texas Timeshare in Lakeway

Best Things Nearby:
Lake Travis, golf, hills, wildlife, museums, great food, historic buildings, etc. There are a lot of fairly tame deer which come into the yards to eat. A great area.

Best Things About the Resort:
Built on the water. You walk into the front door just a few steps from your car, walk through your private cabin to the rear of the balcony which surrounds it and you are about two stories up and overlooking water. It is in an upscale community and the people are very nice. The cabin fixtures have been maintained very well.

Resort Experience:
Texas Timeshare is small and quiet. It has 18 units and is located on a hillside overlooking the Schooner Cove part of Lake Travis. Each unit is a separate building and 12-sided. There is an area between two units with a hot tub and lake access. The units have two bedrooms and two baths. The kitchen was nice and fully equipped. There were two very good-size TVs and a VCR. There is a wood-burning fireplace with wood supplied by the complex. Barbecue grills are on site. The unit is quite a few years old but is maintained and updated very well. Guests can you the facilities of nearby Lakeway Inn for a fee.

Texas Timeshare in Lakeway

Best Things Nearby:
Lake Travis

Best Things About the Resort:
It's a small timeshare with only 18 units, which is sometimes nice.

Resort Experience:
This timeshare is situated near the shore of Lake Travis by a marine where boat rentals, fishing, etc are available. It's fairly quiet because it's small but not very convenient to shopping, restaurants, etc. You have to be willing to drive a ways to those places. It is an older place and a bit run down. They have no pool but you do have access to the Lakeway Inn pool just a short walk up a hill.

Also the only restaurant that's near is at the Lakeway Inn, which is very good but not what you always want.
