This is a great place to stay for your honeymoon or if you just like nice hotels with a Mexican flavor. If it's high season, during Holy Week for example, forget it. You'll never get a room. There are restaurants and the ultimate romantic bar in a cave-like, dimly-lit place. There is not any wild action, so don't expect that.
We paid $125 for a mini suite. Upon check-in, we asked for a free upgrade and were accommodated.
It's a short walk to the main historic district.
If you can't get a room here, try one of the other two historic properties. But stay clear of the Howard Johnson - it's an overpriced, filthy pit.
