There is 24-hour security at the main gate and access is limited to guests only.
Check-in went quickly with no problems. At first, they were going to put us in the older two-story units, which looked somewhat like an old Holiday Inn with outside access. My husband asked (very nicely) if she would please put us in one of the newer high-rises, which she did. I do not think we would have been happy in one of the older units. The activities director was helpful and friendly.
THE TWO-BEDROOM UNIT
When we first saw the unit, we were pleased. The kitchen was small but had everything that we needed for the week. The refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and microwave were so clean that they looked brand new. Off to the side there was a booth-style dinette table that seated six.
The second bedroom had two full-size beds and a TV. The extra bathroom was small and it had a bath/shower combination.
The living area had a fold-out couch and some comfortable chairs. The entertainment center also had a TV and stereo.
The unit had a stackable washer/dryer unit, which was a lifesaver with four children and all the sand that wanders back from the beach with you. The laundry area was not as clean as it could have been, though.
The master suite was equipped with a king-size bed and a large closet. There was a TV in there as well. The bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom. There was a big Jacuzzi tub and a huge walk-in shower.
THE RESORT GROUNDS
There were more high-rise units under construction, but it was gated off so that it didn't bother anyone. Our kids loved the pools and jacuzzi. There was also a simple putt-putt golf course, which we all enjoyed. Our family loved the relaxed, tropical atmosphere. They offered a lot of activities for the kids, but we didn't get to them because we spent most of our time at the beach. The resort also had an impressive spa with a choice of massages, facial treatments, etc. We didn't use any of the services because of the expense, but if you wanted to splurge on a little pampering, it was right there at the resort.

Driving to the resort on our first day took us through an area that isn't the greatest of neighborhoods; however, our fears were fast removed after we passed a new shopping center under construction and once we entered the gated community. The new pool area was still being constructed, so we didn't get to use the pool for the first few days, but they were quick to finish the landscaping and the pool area opened just before our New Year's Eve celebrations.
Our best part of the stay was the massages we had at the spa. However, they close the locker room at 5pm when the spa closes, so you cannot use the steam room if you workout in their gym after hours.

Every day is a theme day at the Fairways of Palm Aire. Whether it's kids' games, adult cards and bingo, dance parties, karaoke, chicken wing lunches, or any number of other planned events at the resort, you are going to be kept quite busy during your vacation.Resort Experience:This resort has everything from one-bedroom units to four-bedroom presidential suites. The units are well-maintained and nicely furnished.
I had the two-bedroom unit, which included a washer/dryer, full-kitchen with every appliance, large dining room table, living room with pull-out sofa, huge balcony porch, a guest bedroom with private bath, and a master bedroom suite with a two-person jacuzzi tub and a tiled shower.
There is 24-hour security at the resort and gated entrances. The resort is within 2 miles of the Interstate 95 exits and there is a large WalMart Supercenter next door, as well as restaurants, and the famous Pompano Race Track.
The Fairways of Palm Aire well deserves its Gold Crown status. The resort staff does a great job making sure that everyone has a great time.

The Everglades tour is an exceptional day of fun and adventure. I can't wait to go back to the Fairways at Palm Aire for more golf.

We went to a sister property one afternoon to use the beach there. It was lovely, although there was a $5 fee to rent a beach chair for the day.
There are wonderful restaurants in nearby Fort Lauderdale, as well as lots of shopping.
Staying at the Fairways was like being in paradise for a week. My husband and I truly loved this vacation and all of the amenities that were offered. The only thing that surprised us about this resort, as compared to other timeshares that we have stayed in, was that there was no maid service during the week unless it was paid for. Most resorts have weekly maid service included. However, fresh towels were only a phone call away.

Upon entering the unit, we were very happy with the exchange - it was more than we expected. We were in a newly upgraded one-bedroom unit. The combination kitchen, dining and living room is large, and all furnishings were new and tastefully selected. The living area has a large sleep sofa, coffee table end table and a large chair. A CD player is located on a table along the wall to the kitchen area. The kitchen area is great - plenty of counter space, full-size fridge, stove with oven, large microwave and full-size dishwasher. The counter has a 27-inch TV with VCR recessed into the end of it. The dining room side of the counter is stepped down with a shelf to use as snack counter with two chairs. The dining area has a large glass table for four. A balcony wraps around the dining/living room with two sliders, four chairs and two tables. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and is located off a corridor in the living area. This area has a small closet and lacks storage space for another couple.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed, two end tables, a counter with a sink, and small fridge. The master bedroom can be isolated from the other rooms, as it has its own entrance from the corridor. It also has its own private balcony with two chairs and a table. The bathroom off the master bedroom has a large Jacuzzi and a large walk-in shower, nice and bright. The bathroom has plenty of counter space with two sinks.
The master bedroom armoire has a 27-inch TV and drawer space below. A double-wide closet is in the master bedroom.

The unit has its own washer and dryer. A great benefit when you have 4 children.
The living room had a roomy couch and loveseat. It opened to a balcony that overlooked the playground and minigolf course. One of our favorite moments was sitting on the balcony watching the kids play mini golf. There was no charge for the golf, so the kids could play every night.
The master bedroom had its own TV and a king sized bed with a jacuzzi tub. The master shower was was the largest one I had efer seen. It was almost large enough for the whole family.
The second bedroom had two full beds and a good size closet. The kids enjoyed having their own TV and bathroom.
The unit we stayed in was beautifully decorated. It was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed and in my opinion, that is the most important feature of any resort.

Elevators can be a little slow, but fortunately, we were on the second floor and used the stairs. The fitness center was rather large for a resort and quite accommodating.
This is a great family resort. We always exchange for a property on the beach, but this, by far, was a better choice. We would drive to the sister resort (Fairfield Royal vista) and park for free and use the beach and pool there. Palm Aire also offered a shuttle service daily. It was definitely worth the 15-minute direct drive. Our sons felt comfortable walking from one activity to another - definitely a family resort.
