Our group selected St Thomas for its combination of amenities, travel ease (we were assembling from all areas of the US), and wide selection of rental villas. Caribbeanway.com was our starting point, but once we found Villa Diva, booking through the owner's private website (vivillas.com) was easier. Payment terms were better (50% deposit to reserve, remainder due 30 days out) and they accepted AMEX, which gave us added security. Caribbeanway.com wanted 100% payment at time of booking, by wire transfer only.
Villa Diva is located on the hillside road to Peterborg, looking south over Magen's Bay. The property is gated and totally private, with mature plantings all around. Four bedrooms are split between two units, with an oceanview pool and patio separating the two buildings. I could go into extensive descriptions of the property, but details are available on both the above-mentioned websites. What the facts and figures cannot convey is how staying at Villa Diva affected us all. Driving into the Peterborg section takes you past one wonderful home after another. Staying in this quiet, residential area made us feel like part of a very exclusive club. Diva was beautiful, private, well appointed, and perfect for our needs. We tanned by the pool, grilled out most nights, walked down the road to the small "neighborhood" beach shared by local homeowners and their guests..... it was truly a blissful way to spend a week.
