This is a brand-new hostel located just FOUR blocks from the world-famous aquarium. Get past the front desk and you'll LOVE this place. Sorry, but during my stay the front desk staff could DEFINITELY have been friendlier. Ah well, it’s a small price to pay for such a great budget accommodation.
I spent the night in a women's dorm. It had 10 bunk beds but not all were filled. We were right next to a bathroom (more than one toilet) and a shower room (only one shower). The room was clean, as was the whole place.
The common room is HUGE. They had a nice selection of books, magazines, and board games (including some for small children). I think there was a TV, too, but I can't be certain. The kitchen was big, too, with lots of storage and supplies.
Overall, this has to be the best hostel I've stayed in, yet, and I've stayed in many! The surrounding neighborhood seemed safe enough but I don't think I'd venture out after dark alone. My friend and I had a weird experience (it’s too difficult to explain, but as women, we must always be aware of our surroundings). There is, also, an apartment complex next door and the inhabitants looked questionable.
