Wyndham Buttes Resort

I’ve called the Valley of the Sun home for the past 6 years. During that time, either because of work or a desire to get away without really going, I’ve had the pleasure of being a guest at the Wyndham Buttes Resort. The property is exceptional in every way. This resort made my short list when I was planning my own wedding! Can I say more?

Location, location, location. The Buttes is located just 4 miles from the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport just off I10. A $7 shuttle ride, a $14 cab fare. The Arizona Mills Mall is less than 2 miles away. And during spring training, you can catch a game at the Tempe Diablo Stadium which is within walking distance from any room on the property.

For you couples, more important than "location" is the romance, romance, romance, that this resort inspires. The grounds really set the stage for me. The winding, uphill driveway, with its well manicured desert landscape creates a feeling of anticipation. I knew my excitement was well-founded when I walked into the lobby. Outside the main lobby, I was even more impressed with the pool and the multiple camouflaged hot tubs that seem to be literally carved out of the mountain. Pamper yourself in the private massage tent; thoughtfully located adjacent to the waterfall at the end of the pool. Obviously, the designers of this facility thought of everything. Forget "R&R", this place will provide a hat trick with the Relaxation, Rejuvenation and Romance that it offers! What a treat.

The accommodations and amenities are fantastic. The rooms are spacious and inviting. Good for both relaxing and working (if you must)! Each room is equipped with high speed internet access, cordless dual-line phones and Nintendo. Wireless capabilities exist in all meeting and public areas. Work off those extra calories playing tennis or in the fitness facility. Whatever you do, don’t miss the Top of the Rock restaurant. The food is delightful, the atmosphere is decadent, and the panoramic views are magnificent.

At $89-99, this off season rate is a steal. The peak season rate is $179-189. This is the perfect place to stay to feel pampered and relax in a breathtaking outdoor pool environment.
