Excellent - recommend a full kitchen (which was up stairs) if you don't wish to BBQ your meals. We choose the BBQ and let the kids cook. Now that was an experience!

MM Villas was a great treat! We were in unit no. 13, just off the first green of the golf course, which was not at all a nuisance. Upon entering the townhouse, the place opens wide. To your left is a full kitchen with all of the necessary appliances, including a fridge with filtered water and ice maker. (It was better than home, really.) There is a breakfast counter, complete with a built-in grill (!!!), that overlooks the dining room and, to some extent, the family room. The dining table easily seats eight.

I loved the hardwood floors throughout the first level. The family room area had plush carpet. The family room has an electric fireplace that gets really toasty really fast. The TV was much too small and not in an armoire. It is sitting on a stone ledge, with its VCR almost like an afterthought. There is a sleeper sofa (not that comfy), a reclining love seat (comfier), and a chair and ottoman (comfiest). The ceiling goes up to the second floor, and so do the windows. A lot of natural light comes in through them. Just make sure you are dressed in case the neighbors come by!

There are two bathrooms: downstairs is the one with a massive, truly massive, whirlpool tub and a sauna. Yes, a sauna. IN THE ROOM. As nice as this is, I think I would still rather have a washer and dryer in the room instead of running to a laundry room. Still, it is a nice feature. Upstairs has a loft with another sleeper sofa, a square glass table with two chairs, and access to the balcony. The second bathroom is nice, even if a little claustrophobic for bigger people, like me. I had to duck in the shower because of the sloping ceiling.

The bedrooms are roomy enough, with a queen-size in the master bedroom and two twins in the other. The mattresses were terrible in my opinion. I like a little bit of plushness and these beds were rather hard. Oh yeah, the closets were a generous size as well.

One other general point: The place smelled like it had been smoked in for years, even though no smoking is allowed. Or maybe it was musty from years of sweaty skiers gear of winters past. We bought some air freshener and Yankee candles with us, which helped alleviate the smell a bit. All in all, the good outweighs the bad. If it weren't for the smell, and despite the petty things I didn't like, I would give it the highest recommendation. Otherwise, the room and the resort are truly top-notch.

This was Villa #97. Though it was nice to stay there. We just regretted the steps that you need to climb to get there, plus they were in need of repair. Which, the maintenance guy informed me that he was going to replace in the next couple of weeks.

I would recommend getting a Villa that is anywhere between 1-30 or so, which would be across from where we were. That side didn't have the steps to climb.

Also, this villa had a spectacular jacuzzi, could easily fit four people in it! However, who needs four people in the tub? Maybe some of you would, but I personally like mine alittle more private. Therefore, for me, it was a waste of water to fill it everyday! After the maintance guy came out to replace the gauge on the hotwater tank, we were able to fill it without running out of hot water.

In the "spa room" at the villa, there was also a Sauna, which was a wonderful extra to enjoy. Just make sure you don't have a breathing problem before trying it out. Your lungs have to adjust to the dry heat.

The kitchen was well equipped, also had a counter gas grill, which was handy. The floors creeked alittle going up the steps and the decor was nice but not great!

Just to let you know, the conceirge department is not like the conceirge department in Woodstone. Mountainside Villas is the first Condo Timeshares to be sold and is run separatly by MVOA. They are good, but not as good as Great Eastern.

Apparently, Great Eastern wants MVOA to handle their own services. Because if you can't get ahold of MVOA and try to get help from Great Eastern, the conceirge dept. will just send you back to MVOA conceirge dept., unless it is an emergency.

MVOA doesn't check in until 9am, whereas, Great Eastern checks in by 8am. Sometimes that helps when you want an early start and need to get information.

There are (2)TV's, and the one in the living room would be better if it were a larger screen. Nice electric fireplace in livingroom, along with large windows.

The diningroom table is nice and sits (8) people, plus there are two bar stools at the countertop.

Plenty of space to hang out and enjoy the wildlife up close and personal, right out your upper and lower decks.

Best Things Nearby:
Luray Cavern. Reptile Zoo. Luray's Maze and Musemum.

Best Things About the Resort:
The ski slopes. The food. The surrounding area. Helpful staff.

Resort Experience:
Great place for family, even young children. Lots of supervised activities for children and planned activities for adults. Our two-story villa was very comfy, clean and big. The jacuzzi and sauna were helpfull, especially after a vigourous ski trip.

The slopes were great offering beginner and advanced runs. The tubing was fun.

The food was good here, too, with everything from regular pizza to a fancy restaurant. Lots of indoor games, swimming pool, etc. A great live-music club.

Sight-seeing was great. Plenty of things to see/do in the surrounding area.

Best Things Nearby:
No need to go too far because everything is at the resort. Caverns and antique shops were not too far and were neat to visit.

Best Things About the Resort:
The indoor and outdoor pools, game rooms and activities were wonderful. In winter they have skiing and snow tubing. They have lessons as well.

Resort Experience:
It is really beautiful at Massanutten. You can drive to the top of the mountain and look down in the valley. Whether it's spring or winter, it is gorgeous!

These units had tons of room and were very open. It was a two-bedroom that could sleep eight people. Had two pull out couches, one downstairs and one on a loft. It had a deck upstairs and downstairs. The units are older, but well taken care of.
