Greenhouse Backpackers

The Greenhouse is the best backpackers I have ever stayed in. It's a bit more expensive than most backpackers ($27 p/night, $25 p/night weekly rate) but it's well worth it. It's located near Flinders station and the Yarra river which is fairly convenient. The beds are comfy and new. Most dorms have four beds in them, although some have six. The bathrooms are big and clean with plenty of hot water! The staff are friendly and willing to help you when they can. The common area is quite large with a big TV room, a little games room, a few couches out of ear shot from the TV, a large dining room & a huge modern kitchen. They have a rooftop garden as well which is an awesome little place to chill out. Best of all this place is clean - it's cleaned daily by the little cleaner lady.

What else .... they give you free stuff.
- They have free breakie from 7:30 (?) until 9 which is cereal and little fruit salad things.
- They have free tea and coffee and even milk powder to go with it.
- This is the best bit ... you get 30minutes free Internet everyday! How good is that?!!
- On Tuesday nights they put on a free barbie for dinner.
- On Sundays at 11 they do free pancakes.

They also organise quite a few things like pub crawls at a fairly good price. As you can probably tell I loved this hostel and would highly recommend it. Only one little tip I can give you about it ... it's a converted office block so some of the rooms don't have a window so just ask for a room with a window. Oh, one more thing ... it's fully airconditioned!
