The Allamanda

The Allamanda is a luxury accommodation that consists of large apartments in a group of buildings right on the beach at Palm Cove. We booked it through our agent at Austravel, who list it as a preferred lodging. We knew that we would be arriving there after 16 days in Fiji and Tasmania after staying in small rooms without laundry or cooking facilities, and the presence of both of them was enough to make Sue want to stay there.

I cannot speak to the evening dining in the Palm Cove area, because we made full use of the kitchen, with fresh seafood, lamb and beef among the staples. Certainly not cheap at $170USD per night. The kitchen hardware was only acceptable and the water in the pools was too cold to enjoy (so was the beach - but maybe I’m too used to the Caribbean), and there was on-going construction in the suite next to us (which we never heard). If this kind of accommodation fits your needs, it is recommended.
