Peace in Paradise

Took my family there for a week and enjoyed it so much we joined. The resort isn't new but is well-kept and was going through a renovation program. The entire place had just been painted and we saw several of the villas closed as they worked on them. We had a view of the Atlantis Marina and it was enjoyable to see the huge yachts go in and out. The staff is very friendly and they know your name after the first day. The food at the pool bar is very good and reasonably priced, especially for Paradise island. Right next to the Atlantis Casino, too. We had a blast and can't wait to return.

Best Things Nearby:
Rose Island excursion, deep-sea fishing, and a sunset dinner cruise on a catamaran, all arranged by the resort, were the best. It was a 20-minute walk to Nassau for shopping/restaurants, and there was beach access at Atlantis.

Best Things About the Resort:
We liked the friendliness of the staff, especially the activities staff. Rum punch flowed freely aboard the dinner, sunset, and Rose Island cruises (included). It is fairly small, so you get to know folks who may be from the same state you are from. We met many Red Sox fans (we're from the Boston area), and that was fun. The pool is small and cold in March, but the hot tub was great and security allowed us to stay in after "closing time." Barbeque night, with fire dancing from "Action Jackson," was fantastic, as was the hula dancing competition (men and women). The unit was small but comfortable.

Resort Experience:
Nothing will ever compare to getting up each morning and drinking my coffee on the patio as I watched the deckhands scrub the 30-million-dollar yachts moored just outside the resort’s gate. Across the narrow harbor, the Atlantis loomed high in the sky, breathtaking to look at (but I wouldn't want to stay there). We would contemplate the excursion we would enjoy that day (all prearranged through their website). When we got back each day, we were greeted with another rum punch. If we still had the energy, we would find dinner locally and head back for another stretch in the hot tub. Heaven. Enjoy this gem before Atlantis swallows them up with their constant growth.

The beach, food, Paradise Island itself, and the amenities

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort was super and the staff was wonderful, especially Tony and Brian.

Resort Experience:
This was the best yet, and we have been with RCI for 14 years and have traveled all over. I certainly hope to go to this resort again. It was like home away from home surrounded by a lot of good friends. They really made you feel that way. They were there to help and entertain whatever your needs were. There were plenty of good food and activities, or just lie around soaking up the sun.

We had a one-bedroom that was wonderful for the two of us. The bedroom was separated from the living area by a bathroom on one side and french doors to the entry hall. VERY HEAVY CURTAINS for those who sleep in late! It opened to a quiet garden and a view of the Atlantis the Marina (we're talking YACHTS!). The rooms, gardens, and pool area are impeccably kept. The kitchen was in super shape. The staff was incredible (if I had dishes in the sink, they'd wash them, and if I had clean ones drying, they'd put them away)! The first evening there, van service is offered to the large grocery store on Nassau, and then, during the week there is a market just a block away.

Atlantis Resort, the Green Parrot Restaurant, shopping.

Best Things About the Resort:
The activities staff.

Resort Experience:
We have been RCI members for over 10 years now and this is the first resort that actually had us getting involved with their activities and meeting other guests. They had a lot of planned activities. We especially enjoyed the all-day trip to Rose Island where we had our own private beach to play on for a day -- they also provided food and entertainment. It was a great day!
