An Exclusive Resort Right on the Beach of Gran Canaria

An Exclusive Resort Right on the Beach of Gran Canaria

Normally I would stay in local bungalows just for the simplicity of it, or stay at the Sheraton Salobre Golf & Spa Resort up in the hills.

But this time I wanted to check out a hotel that was close to the beach and right in the up and coming center of Meloneras - the new developped area of Maspalomas.

What a wonderul treat it was. The room was great with an ocean view on the 7th floor. All the amenities that I was looking for were there. Especially the lovely pillows after a "busy" day out on the beach and at night out on the town were a comforting extra I want to mention here.

But most of all the grounds were out of this world (except of some posh resorts in Dubai or elsewhere maybe.) The lagoon pool was so nice that on one day we spent more than 3 hours in it soaking it all up and never wanted to leave.

If you do have to leave, the restaurants off the hotel are superb, especially the Gran Italia on the boardwalk right in front of the hotel.

There are also three different shopping centers within 3 minutes of the hotel with everything from sundries, sun tan lotion to exquisite clothing and sun-glasses.

All in all a wonderful experience not to be missed! I will return very soon!

Accommodation was very good, clean and cool. The grounds are huge with about 6 pools, one especially huge overlooking the sea. The hotel foyer was like an atrium with a three-story entrance hallway. They have good facilities with the Spa Centre underneath the hotel, where you can spoil yourself on the wet days! It's close to the main town and a short taxi ride to Las Palmas for bars, nightlife and restaurants. The price included breakfast & dinner, both of which were buffet style, and eat as much as you want!
