Westwind II Club

Best Things Nearby:
If you like to gamble, there's a casino two resorts down, the beach, and downtown.

Best Things About the Resort:
Small and quiet, friendly atmosphere, public transportation right in front of resort, close to restaurants and grocery store

Resort Experience:
As I said, the resort is small, which makes for a more relaxing vacation, and you get to know most of the people staying there by the end of the week. It is right on the beach and has two swimming pools.

The unit was a one-bedroom but had a loft with two twin beds and its own bathroom--so it was really two-bedroom. The unit is not fancy and has no extras, but it's comfortable and roomy.

If I were to stay at this resort again, I would take my own beach towels. If you want to use the resort's "beach towels," there is a weekly charge per person. And you get a cheap towel that you can only trade in once for a new one--four days later. The laundry facilities are not very good, either. There are three washers and two dryers that are used by the resort staff until 5pm daily--at which time it is opened for the use of the resort's guests and everyone begins rushing to try to get there first.

Best Things Nearby:
Johnny Canoo's Restaurant, Crystal Palace Casino, and Paradise Island.

Best Things About the Resort:
The best thing was the friendliness of the staff. The pools and grounds are immaculate.

Resort Experience:
This was our second trip to Nassau. We specifically chose this resort, because on our first trip, we walked by and visited this resort and contemplated purchasing a unit. It was a great vacation. Our unit, however, had a mildew issue in the air-conditioning ducts. The staff made every effort to come in and address it, but I am afraid it was unsuccessful. If you have asthma, beware!

However, I do want to stress that this did not ruin our trip. The resort is quaint, and again, the staff is delightful. Rooms are well-stocked with all the essentials to cook. There are no activities on site. The staff will help you with whatever you wish to do, though. This is a very quiet resort with many repeat owners/visitors. Everyone seemed to know each other, and it had a reunion atmosphere. There is no beach to speak of at the resort, but you can sit on the beach at the resort next door without being bothered.

A bus ride is only a $1 each way no matter how far you go. My husband and I actually took the bus around. Canoo's has the best food for a decent price. We saw Mario Van Peeples while we were eating one evening! My husband won at the casino. The grocery store is a short bus trip away, with reasonable prices. Paradise Island is also a bus ride away and a must-see. Don't forget the straw market!

Best Things About the Resort:
The BEACH, The VILLA, The STAFF .. the resort is wonderful!

Resort Experience:
Westwind II Resort Highly Recommended

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Westwind II. The staff is extremely friendly and the resort is small which we liked. Valencia and Donita are in the office and Wanda and Lovely run the cafe. Everything is "No problem." You are definitely on vacation at Westwind II.

The Resort

Westwind II has two pools, a clubhouse, tennis courts and a nice beach. The grounds are nicely landscaped and well maintained.
The resort has 50 units, 25 lower units with two bedrooms and 25 upper villas with one bedroom and a loft.

The Villas

We had an upper villa with loft. The villa was nicely furnished with wicker. The living area had a sofa, two sitting chairs, two snack tables, two end tables, a dinette with four chairs, a shelf unit with a 20" color TV and a phone.

The kitchen had all the necessary cooking and dining utensils. The appliances included a full size stove, microwave, refrigerator but no dishwasher. The resort provides plenty of bath towels and you can exchange them for fresh ones each morning.

The master bedroom had a queen size bed, two night stands, a dresser and a large closet with lots of hangars! We had plenty of room for all our clothes. The loft had two twin beds, a dresser, a night stand and a closet.
The villa had two bathrooms, each with tub and shower.

The villas were air-conditioned and also had a ceiling fan.

They also included a patio with table and four chairs. We ate dinner on the patio one night but mostly it was good place to leave snorkeling gear and beach towels to dry.

Beach, downtown (shopping), casino, zoo.

Best Things About the Resort:
It's a small resort. Everybody knew everybody; many owners have owned for many years and they all knew each other. It was one big family. The employees would remember your name. That was special. Very easy walk to the neighboring resorts.

Resort Experience:
It was relaxing. We had the two-bedroom with the loft. This worked out beautifully and gave the other couple a little more privacy than being downstairs, where we would have felt on top of each other. Beds were comfortable and everything you would needed was there. It was convenient having washer/dryers on-site, and they were inexpensive. The pools were perfect. The bar was wonderful--great food, great drinks, and great people!

Westwind II

Our second timeshare exchange to Cable Beach. First time in Westwind I, which was smaller and further away from the big hotels on Cable Beach. Westwind II is less than a 5 minute walk to the Crystal Palace Casino, which is where we spent our nights. The pools and the clear, warm waters were where we spent most of our days. Very good two-bedroom condo that was well-equipped, but a little small, especially the bedrooms. Well kept grounds.
