Description: We exchanged our Hilton points into RCI to go to the Bahamas and stayed at the Paradise Harbor Club and Marina. This is the only RCI Gold-rated resort on Paradise Island. We stayed for 7 days in a one-bedroom unit. The PHC and the Paradise Beach club (PBC) are sister resorts. We stayed at the PHC since it offered one-bedroom units and the PBC only offered two-bedroom units. The PHC is located on the south side of the island at the Marina; the PBC is on the north side right on Cabbage Beach, only a few minutes away by complimentary golf cart shuttle.
What turned out to be a great thing was the more remote/private location of the Harbor Club where we stayed. At night you hang out by the pool or Columbus Tavern right at the marina, and the lights on the harbor and party boats going by create a nice atmosphere. Even though we enjoy being "beach bums," it was fast and easy (and free) to get to the beach during the day and enjoy our more private resort at night. The apartment was clean, very large, and nicely furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances and a big balcony with a table, chairs, lounge chairs, light and ceiling fan, and sunrise views in the morning and harbor views at night. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the pool and outdoor whirlpool was warm and well maintained daily.
They have free water taxi service to the main island daily, where you can shop at the straw market, and many other activities, since you are getting dropped off right where the cruise ships dock. Atlantis is only 2 minutes away by taxi, and you could walk there if you are in shape. I would recommend staying here rather than at Atlantis (too pricey and too crowded). Go visit Atlantis when you go, however, as it is amazing.
There are so many excursions and things to do, you could stay for 6 months and do something new every day. The only drawback to this destination is the cost of food, in the restaurants and supermarkets as well. Unless Hilton builds a vacation club someday on Paradise Island, the Paradise Harbor Club and Marina is the place to stay. We are going back next October.
