Best Things Nearby:
Beach, Versailles gardens, water taxi

Best Things About the Resort:
Bahamian weather

Resort Experience:
Small unit that was not as nice as others we have exchanged for. It was clean. The personnel were not friendly or welcoming. They offered no unsolicited information regarding resort amenities or local activities. Fees ($19/day/adult) are excessive. 15% "gratuity" always included on bills.

Best Things Nearby:
Atlantis Casino Boats to mainland Nassau and all of the daily "island getaways" are right across the street (short walking distance).

Best Things About the Resort:
Excellent staff, smaller resort, daily activities, awesome view of the Atlantis Resort.

Resort Experience:
This was the best vacation we have ever taken. We've been to many places, but none could compare to Club Land'Or. We were a little conservative with our opinions at first. The resort seemed so small. But, after the first day, we realized that it was a benefit! The staff knew us by name and had our favorite drinks ready for us! We would spend some time in the evenings at the bar joking around with the bartender giving him a hard time about the Washington Redskins! If you are looking for a resort with all the bells and whistles, this is not for you. If you are looking for a great time with a great staff, go to Land'Or!

Best Things Nearby:
Atlantis Casino and Club, the town of Nassau. the specialty shops on paridise Island

Best Things About the Resort:
The Club had many nice features, the pool the resteraunts the entertainments and the staff.

Resort Experience:
The condo itself was very small. the bathroom and shower were very hard to move in. The bed had a curve in the middle and was very uncomfortable. The kitchen and dining areas were good and the couch was comforable. The view was very good.

The restaurant the Blue Lagoon was very good and the pool side resteraunt was great.

The staff were very friendly and willing to help.

The entertainment they had was fantastic. The tours that they provided were also very good. The trip to Rose Island and the buffet they served and the unlimited island drinks were outstanding. The snorkeling on the reef with this trip was breathtaking. That trip alone made my week.

The Bahaman Barbeque with the Fire Dances and the limbo under fire poles was also a highlight of the trip.

Except the bed in the room, the trip was great.

Unknown Church

Unknown Church

I was attempting to reach the town of Santa Elena, home of the Monteverde Rain-Forest Reserve, late at night in a downpour with fog. I had been driving for hours and was exhausted. Unable to see the road ahead, I decided to stop for the night and pitch my tent.

I saw what appeared to be an empty, deserted building and felt safer spending the night close to a building rather than out in a field somewhere with the possibility of a poisonous snake biting me. So I pitched my tent and quickly fell asleep.

The next morning, I heard voices, many voices, and slowly opened the zipper of my tent.Behold, there were people walking around my tent, entering this building which turned out to be a church-and it was a Sunday morning.Obviously embarrassed, I got dressed and approached the minister, explaining my situation. He was gracious, inviting me to join his congregation for worship. Good idea, I thought, but first I had to use a bathroom to relieve myself. The minister pointed to an outhouse with a large cross in front.

Joining this congregation for worship was a highlight of my Costa Rica visit..these people were warm and friendly..inviting me to share a meal after worship.

I am grateful that I took photos of this experience which I share with you.
