Great Little Hotel

I have stayed here 3 times in the last few years - with teenage kids, with my husband, and then by myself, and I have enjoyed every stay. The rooms are comfortable and pleasant, the breakfast is great, and the staff is warm and welcoming. The location is terrific: you are a brief walk from any of the major churches, museums, etc., and yet the hotel is set apart from the tourist bustle. I cannot imagine stopping anywhere else in Florence

Excellent Experience

My wife, 13 year-old son and I stayed at the Hotel Silla Florence and were very well impressed. The transfer from the train station to the hotel was arranged by the hotel and worked perfectly. Very friendly and attentive staff. Comfortable and clean triple room. We paid exactly what was advertised -- no hidden charges. We would definitely stay there again. We would also recommend it to our family, friends and anyone who is looking for a memorable stress-free stay.

Fabulous Service!

Hotel Silla is wonderfully located in the Oltrarno area of Florence - across the river, about a 5 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, and crossing the river about 20 minutes from the Duomo, at a very leisurely pace.

The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. I was in contact with them for many weeks prior to arriving, and they helped to arrange a private driver to the wine country, as well as a group tour at the last minute when our plans changed.

The included breakfast was more than adequate - it is the same each day but offers fresh fruit and juices, as well as eggs, toast and pastries, meat and cheese, yoghurt and cereal. The pleasant server takes your order for coffee, cappucino, cioccolata (hot chococate) or tea.

There is a very nice terrace overlooking the river, from which you can see the dome of the Duomo, and the Palazzo Vecchio. The park in front of the hotel is a gathering place for locals and their dogs in the early evening, so you feel like you have a real view of local Florence, not just the touristy areas.

The rooms are decent size for Europe, although somewhat plainly decorated. The bathrooms are modern, with good towels and a hairdryer. We had a lovely view of the river.

Hotel Silla

Hotel Silla is a three-star property just beneath Michelangelo Park, on the banks of the Arno River. Massimo, at the front desk, was exceptionally helpful both with our luggage and in securing us a tiny spot in their nearby garage for our rental car.

Hotel Silla is situated in the Medieval & Renaissance heart of Florence, on the left bank of the Arno River, within easy walking distance of all major sites. Since 1964, the Belotti family has hosted guests in this 16th-century palace. "OPTIME HIC MARABITUR" is their motto: "Here one lives very well."

Our room was huge, with excellent air conditioning and cool, cool Italian tile throughout. We had both a bathtub and a separate shower, plus a bidet, of course. The hotel does have elevators. A wonderful breakfast is served outside on the terrace, where drinks are also offered in the evenings. Staff members were friendly and helpful, especially Massimo. The neighborhood was authentic and a pleasure to experience. We definitely recommend Hotel Silla. (E-Mail: hotelsilla@tin.it)
