Trenython Manor and Country Club

Best Things Nearby:
The resort is very close to a lot of nice manor houses and gardens. The most famous sight might be the Eden Project, a collection of subtropical and tropical plants. The seaside towns Newquay, Plymouth and Torquay are also within drivable distance.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort is very quiet, surrounded by a lot of fields and trees and gives one a very good opportunity to relax. The staff is amazingly friendly and will give great advice about what to do and what to see. A special mention goes to the restaurant on site. The food is fabulous and the prices moderate.

Resort Experience:
It was one of my nicest times I have had in a resort. The staff was so friendly, you could ask any question and they were always willing to help out and to give great advice. As the resort is located in very quiet surroundings, we could really relax and enjoy the nice weather and mild climate Cornwall is famous for.

We stayed in a nice little lodge with 2 bedroom and the room was equipped with everything that was necessary.

I would really recommend the Trenython Manor to anybody who looks for a nice relaxing holiday and wants to enjoy the nice landscape and the friendly people in Cornwall.

Best Things Nearby:
Grocery shopping, Eden garden, fast train, and larger towns.

Best Things About the Resort:
The spa was great and I loved the massages.

Resort Experience:
The accommodations were fine. However, the bedroom has twin beds, so we had to put the beds together. It was very roomy and private.

We enjoyed having the option of paying for spa services at checkout.

The staff in the bar is very slow. After being seated and we ordered a bottle of wine, it took 45 minutes for someone to come by and take our food order!

Best Things Nearby:
Eden Project, Fowey (a small medieval fishing village), Truro Cathedral, Coastal Footpath, Wheal Martin, local gardens, villages and pubs

Best Things About the Resort:
Clean well-equipped cottages, friendly knowledgeable staff, pool and health spa, spacious lounge and bar area.

Resort Experience:
Trenython Manor is just that. A former manor house designed by Garibaldi and once owned by the bishop of Truro. The Italianate influence is unmistakable and the inn itself is quite grand. The cottages are well designed, have patios and views. This is a new resort and is still finding its way. They are a bit formal and really not suited to young children. However, the resort seems to work for both those wanting a pampered spa experience and those wishing to relax and tour, and it is possible to do both.

Best Things About the Resort:
Peaceful

Resort Experience:
Beautiful old manor house set in secluded countryside. Offers a la carte dining in the oak-paneled dining room or lighter meals in the bar area. Accommodation is in bungalow style and the bungalows are warm, comfortable and nicely decorated. Kitchen has full range of cooking appliances. TV and CD stereo are in the living room.

Within the manor house, there are spa facilities open to all guests, such as swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room, and beauty treatments are also available. I would recommend the back massage!

Best Things Nearby:
The town of Fowey is about two miles away. Very charming with friendly shops and very good restaurants. A lovely harbor as well. The Eden project is only four miles away (unless you get lost like we did). If you like plants, this is a must see. The largest greenhouses in the world. The guides were very knowledgeable and the grounds and greenhouses were magnificent.

Best Things About the Resort:
The cottages are very well equipped. First time I have had a chrome wine bucket on a pedestal and four different types of wine glasses in a timeshare kitchen. Lots of small appliances, too, although there is no dishwasher or garbage disposal. We had a two bedroom unit and the second bedroom is small; two twin beds arranged perpendicularly.

The grounds are lovely, flowers still blooming in December, and there is a wonderful restaurant at the Manor hotel. You can use all the facilities at the hotel. They have a nice pool, sauna, steamroom, exercise room and spa. If you want a massage, make your reservations early.

Resort Experience:
Cornwall is an area of England consisting of dozens of small towns. We were only able to visit a few, but enjoyed all of them. England gets dark early in the winter; by 4pm, it is nighttime. This limited where we could go because the driving at night can be confusing and treacherous. There are no lights, very narrow roads, and local drivers who are in a hurry and don't care. Most everything in Cornwall can be reached within an hour or two by car, but get an early start.
