Minack Theatre, Flambards Experience, St. Michael’s Mount, Courtroom Experience, and Eden Project

Best Things About the Resort:

The resort is huge and takes a while to explore. There are extensive on-site activities, including a pool and sauna, fitness center, lake activities, trails, and golf course.

Resort Experience:

We were more than satisfied with this resort overall. We stayed in a one-bedroom in the Golf View apartments. From speaking to other visitors, we understand that some of the other lodges and resort rooms are much nicer and newer than the Golf View apartments. With respect to our room, we found the accommodations to be average to above average. We were provided with most of what we needed, although we would have liked a change of towels (the room had no towel bars, so the towels did not dry properly), shampoo and conditioner, blankets besides the heavy comforter on the bed (it is quite cold here, even in July), and more serving bowls. We would have liked the laundry facilities to be open later, too, since we didn’t have time to do our laundry during the day and it closed in the early evening. However, the front-desk staff did keep the laundry open late one evening for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We planned a lot of activities in the surrounding countryside, and they were always willing to guide us and provide directions and insights.

We were impressed with the enormity of the resort’s grounds and the different things on-site to entertain their guests, including the giant chess and checker boards and several lakes. Although this resort was farther from most of the action in England than we would have liked, we found plenty to do in the area, and the only bit of difficulty we ran into was the driving. The local people drive like maniacs, despite the fact that the speed limits are low and the roads are almost too narrow for two cars. All the same, DO NOT SPEED. Cornwall has cameras tracking your speed, and you will get a ticket by mail after your vacation if you are caught speeding!!

Best Things About the Resort:
The units are set in a beautiful estate with mature trees, a lake, and wildlife. The self-guided walk is a delight.

Resort Experience:
The unit was warm and welcoming, with comfortable furniture and CD, DVD, and video player. We stayed in the Coach House and were delighted to feed the ducks that came to our patio doors for bread in the morning.

On arrival, we were given a leaflet that gave details of a self-guided walk around the estate. We went out after our evening meal and watched the bats as they came out of the woods to feed on insects over the lake. It was a magical experience made even better by a beautiful sunset reflected in the water. The swans had cygnets and other water birds had their young. The wooden sculptures of bears and the fairy grotto were a magnet for children and the young at heart. The beautiful boathouse and tree house were almost finished, and we admired the workmanship.

The gardens around the reception were beautiful, as was the pool area.

We cannot rate Clowance highly enough.

Best Things Nearby:
Truro for shopping, St. Ives Bay for sightseeing and eating, and we also visted Newquay, which is more touristy but has some cool clothes shops, very good for surfing and nightclubs.

Best Things About the Resort:
The grounds of this resort were nice and green and very well-kept. I visited the beautician on-site and would well recommend this, as the cost compared to other timeshares was very reasonable. The fact that everything was within easy driving distance was a bonus for us, and all the attractions are clearly signposted.

Resort Experience:
I had a two-bedroom golf-view apartment, which was immaculate and very homely. It was a very spacious unit whith an en-suite bathroom off the main bedroom.

Apartment was just fine. Excellent furnishings and complete with all one needs. Location was perfect for touring and visiting a major part of southern England. A pleasure to come back to at the end of each day! Grounds just coming into spring.

Best Things Nearby:
The best things near by are the villages with little beach coves. Some of them seem to rely on fishing for the income and haven't turned to tacky shops and arcades. There is plenty to explore and nothing seems to far away.

Best Things About the Resort:
The apartment (see below).

Resort Experience:
All the apartments are slightly different. My husband and I stayed in one of the lodges near the entrance. It was set around a nine hole golf course, so it was very green and woody. The lodge itself was an A frame log style unit. I was a 1bed/04/04. The master bedroom is on the ground floor, while the other beds are set in the loft area with stairs leading up from the living room. There was a full kitchen and it was very clean. There was a patio area as well with a barbeque which looked great for the summer.

We didn't really use the facilities much, except the bar, which I didn't really like. You have to walk through the swimming area, which is not the best if you've got all dressed up as you don't feel like having a night out. It is however, great if you have got kids, so you can keep your eye on them while in the bar. The entertainment was not my cup of tea, a pianist playing elevator music and the staff all seeemed a bit wooden. We only went in the one night. On walking through to the bar that evening, we passed what must have been the games room just opposite reception. There were a couple of lads playing pool, but I felt this would have been better in a room off the bar because if they wanted refreshments, they would have to leave that room, go through the swimming pool, and up the stairs to the bar. When we left the resort, we had to pay an electricity charge. Fair enough, it was winter, but for three days, £40 seemed too high.
