We have owned a cottage in carvynick for about 20 years and have taken a holiday there every year. There were times in the past when the sight and the accommodation was very poor but since the last person took it on some years ago the cottages have been improved, are kept very clean and up together, also the reception, the pool and the changing rooms have all been brought up to a good standard. What was the sight pub (many years ago) is now a first rate restaurant with excellent food and service. I would recommend this holiday to anyone who wants a quite holiday but within a 15 minute drive from the beach. The only down comment I would make is that the cottages should have there own parking bays (as near to where they are positioned) which should be numbered to stop visitors to the restaurant parking out side the cottages.

Dead Flies

We arrived and was very disappointed to find it was no more than a jumped up housing estate with the properties being very close together, the shower was stained brown the the toilet was no clean under the rim. Guests parked the cars almost directly in front of the property and we had the front door open and the kitchen area was filled with fumes from next doors running car, the staff didn't appear to know what they where doing and the table was set when we arrived with a dead fly in a cup, and in the frying pan, the cooker was also none too clean, we would not stay here again, very poor standards.

The Eden Project, Dairy Land (for children), and Newquay beaches -- beautiful!

Best Things About the Resort:
Lovely clean units. Living area is located upstairs given fantastic view of surrounding area. The two-bedroom unit that we stayed in had two bathrooms, making it very private indeed.

Resort Experience:
This resort was a real eye-opener for us. Having never visited Newquay before, this provided the perfect base for exploring!

On-site amenities include laundry, indoor swimming pool, sunbeds, sauna and steam room. There is a nine-hole golf course on-site and for a small fee, this can be used on a daily basis. There is also a pub on-site that provides lovely evening and lunchtime meals and has a garden outside for the nicer evenings. There is also a facility for the children to play football on-site, something that most resorts will not allow.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our week here and would love to visit again.

Best Things Nearby:
It was near village of Truro. A quaint area full of stories of pirates docking in one of many inlits.

Best Things About the Resort:
The pub was 8 steps out our unit door. This was a great spot to visit with locals. The restaurant and badmiton were good, too.

Resort Experience:
We found it to be a local, colorful spot. People can bring thier dogs in to the pubs. Getting to talk to locals made our trip priceless. We talked about politics, gun control and Holleywood and Sally Fields. It made our trip come alive.

Excellent 3 star hotel, rooms with balconies facing the ocean, they also have tennis courts and a swimming pool. Rooms are very comfortable in this moderately-expensive hotel.
