Best Things Nearby:
The beach was nice, but there was a lot of debris, a legacy of the recent hurricanes.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort was quiet and clean, and the staff was very friendly.

Resort Experience:
This was a quiet resort, but was accessible to Port Lucaya through the complimentary shuttle bus service.

The gardens were well kept, and free beach towels and sun loungers were available.

The 1-bedroom apartment we stayed in was across the road, but it had a nice view of both the sea and the inland canals. An outdoor Jacuzzi was also available across the road.

NOTE: the temperature varied widely in the Jacuzzi; some days it was too hot to sit in.

Island Seas is a nice new resort. The furnishings are very island-like. We travel as a family of five and our two bedroom unit served us well.

The kithen was equiped with modern appliances and nice dishes and silverware. A glass top Table and Six Chairs adorned the dining area.

The living room has a TV with cable channels and a sofa sleeper and chair. The furniture was light and easy to move to make the bed at night.

The master bedroom had it's own bath and the second bath was in the hall by the second bedroom. Bedroom number two has a double bed and dressers. The second bedroom had a private balcony(ours had an ocean view).

There is a large balcony with four chairs off the living room to enjoys view of the fabulous courtyard with swimming pool, bar and restaurant.

The pool and beach here are wonderful, well kept and well staffed. Even go so far as to have a person to carry chairs to the beach for your enjoyment and return them for you when your done.

Island Seas Resort

It was a very nice resort. Could have done without the construction. BEWARE!! YOU CANNOT USE ANY CELL PHONES OR CALLING CARDS FROM THE U.S.!! That was the worst! Leaving the country and not having a way to call home! The resort was on the beach, very clean, and the people were very nice and helpful. The island drinks are superb! I would recommend this place to anyone.

Best Things Nearby:
Zonk the conch man has a conch stand on the beach to the east of the resort, and to the west of the resort along the beach road is a local bar that is open in the evenings only.

Best Things About the Resort:
A great beach, with good flat reef snorkeling about 1/4 mile east or west of the resort, and only 200 yards from the beach. Take a friend or go as a group and venture far out for the best results. The fish density is light. I saw large southern sting rays, a spotted eagle ray, an octopus, french angelfish, jacks, grunts, snappers, damsel fish, butterfly fish, squirrel fish, spiny lobsters, sea urchins, moray eels, and a couple of very big trigger fish. There are a couple of very big brain corals worth hunting down in the area. On the snorkeling scale, it's a 7 out of 10. The beach is great for walking at low tide. You can walk about 1/2 mile east or about 3-4 miles west.

Resort Experience:
The resort is very nice, a family place where you can actually spend quality time with your family. We had a room on the second floor of the coral building overlooking the beach. The view was spectacular. We were VIP members, and were able to get fresh beach towels each morning, and the staff located our beach chairs wherever we wanted them.

Happy hour (2 for 1) is from 4-6pm at Coconuts Bar and Grill, the resort’s poolside open-air restaurant. There is also a beach tiki hut for drinks. We bought a foam cooler at the Win Dixie and brought our own drinks and food from the room to the beach and pool. This resort is ideal if you plan to eat in most of the time.

There are bikes, croquet, shuffleboard, horseshoes, ping-pong, and a small library with limited video rentals for kids. The front desk can arrange tours, as well as boat, car and scooter rentals. (They come and pick you up from Port Lucaya.)

For early arrivals, the resort will store your bags until your room is ready. There is a free bus to the local grocery store every Monday just after noon. Alternatively, taxis costs about $20 round trip. If you take a taxi from the airport and expect to arrive at the resort after 4pm, have the taxi stop and wait at the Win Dixie or Solomen’s in the downtown area of Freeport before going to the resort.

Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
Island Seas is a beautiful resort. The resort was in very good condition and kept extremely clean. We stayed in a two-bedroom lock-off unit which was just right for four people. Both bedrooms were large. The master bedroom had a king size bed with its own bathroom. The second bedroom had two twin beds with its own bathroom. The kitchen was just right with all the utensils needed. We cooked in a lot because the price of food was extremely expensive on the island. The family room in the unit looked out into the pool area. The condo was accessible from the pool area through a sliding door or through the front door. This made it handy when we were spending time at the pool to send the kids to get snacks.

The resort is located right on the beach and is beautiful with lots of shells to collect. The best time to find shells is early in the morning. Be sure to put out the "please make up room" sign in the morning so you will have clean towels by the afternoon. Free laundry is available to guests, but get there early in the morning to get a washer!

Timeshare owners are given a VIP card and can get towels and use the beach accessories (volleyball, soccer, chairs, and huts) for free by showing the card. You can also rent jet skis, kayaks, and paddle boats right from the beach. Other trips can be arranged for you through the staff--deep-sea fishing, parasailing, glass bottom boat rides, snorkeling, etc. You can also snorkel right off the beach if you choose to. The water is very clear.

The only drawback about this resort is that there are no children's activities except joining the adults in sand volleyball on the beach. Children are also not allowed in the hot tub. This was a drawback since the cool evenings cooled the unheated pool and our kids were not able to swim.

We attended the sales presentation just for the free T-shirts and free breakfast. The presentation was very low key but informative. Once we told our salesperson we were already timeshare owners the "pressure" was off. The resort needs to have organized activities and cater to the families who trade or own at this resort.
