The Circus

After spending 3 months traveling around Europe, it was a treat to stay at the Circus Hostel...it's more like a hotel than a hostel. The places (there are two) are in great locations, the staff are great and very helpful, and the rooms are positively luxurious (especially after slumming it in some of Europe's less savoury hostels). The price is definitely worth it, and although there are cheaper hostels in Berlin, it's still very reasonable.

First of all, there are two different Circus Hostels in Berlin. Of all the hostels I stayed at in Europe, this was the top one by far. The price for a six-person room was around $18. The place is very clean inside, and everything seems new. The beds are very comfortable. The showers are hot and almost too powerful. The bar in the basement is a great place to meet people and offers many drink specials. The cafe located inside the hostel serves a wonderful breakfast for 3 euros. On top of all this, the place is located right across from a U-Bahn station, so you are never too far from downtown Berlin.

Fantastic - clean, spacious, no lockout and fabulous friendly staff. The rooms are huge and everything is very new. There is always hotwater and the showers are free!

There is a cafe with great cheap food and the most sensational bar where you can mix with other hostellers as well as the locals. Plus their Happy Hour drinks change every night so its not just beer - they even have cheap cocktails!
