Palm Beach Shores Resort

Best Things Nearby:
the beach, the pool, the marina...and lots of things easily accessed by car.

Best Things About the Resort:
It has a very tropical feel. Exotic birds are housed around the pool area...staff were very nice. Beach to walk. Pool to swim. Lots of activities if you want to participate.

Resort Experience:
The one-bedroom units are perfect for a couple. Don't think I'd want to share this space with others. While the kitchen is listed as partial, it was very adequate for our use. The bathroom was large, but I was disappointed with the old regular tub (I can't help it, I love my baths!)...didn't seem to fit the rest of the feel of this Gold Crown resort. Very nicely furnished...our room faced the pool area...quiet in the mornings, and busy with activity in the afternoons. We enjoyed our stay, and it was close to family in Lake Worth.

Palm Beach Shores Resort

One-bedroom suites were nicely decorated and perfect for a couple. Bathroom large, but only disappointment was that it was a regular tub (what can I say? I love my baths!) The regular tub just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the place/resort. Room faced the pool area...quiet in the mornings, busy with activity in the afternoon. If you had children (we don't), lots of activities to join in. Beach was great for walking...and the pool was perfect for cooling off after a long stroll on the beach. Beautiful exotic birds around the pool...

Beautiful, spacious rooms with a balcony view of the ocean. Rooms had everything you could possibly need - TVs and VCRs in each bedroom and living room, comfortable living room with sofa sleeper. The private beach has white sands and attentive staff.

Best Things Nearby:
The beach is fantastic - all sand, no rocks or weeds. The water is warm (76 degrees) and it does not get deep fast. At times, the surf is adequate for surfing. You can rent cat sailboats and surfboards. Canopy beach huts are also available for rent.

A small strip mall across from the resort is handy and has shops, restaurants, 7-11, and clean bars with entertainment.

Best Things About the Resort:
The swimming pool is laid out great, with plenty of padded lounges; towels are supplied at the pool. The adult hot tub is in a secluded area. The children’s pool is shallow and not heated; however, the main pool has a roped-off area for children and the pool is heated. They have tiki cages with exotic birds and exotic squirrels in various areas around the pool. The kids love the birds and exotic squirrels.

A large tiki bar with plenty of barstools is located in the pool area. The bar has happy hour every day from 4pm until 8pm, $1.00 draft beers, $2.00 well drinks and $4.00 wine. Frozen drinks are pricey, $7.00 each. You can order appetizers, salads, and sandwiches from the bar.

They have live entertainment at the pool area that starts at 11am and goes on through the afternoon; the music is entertaining.

The resort is very good for families with children. The resort-sponsored Beach Buddies Kids' Club is great - the kids can actually learn some crafts while on vacation.

The resort has a nail spa and salon for the wife, daughter or girlfriend. Hair braiding is done at the pool. A well-equipped fitness center is also on site.

The concierge is easy to work with. She is invaluable in helping you enjoy your stay by making you aware of the activities and sights to see in the area.

They have two restaurants, one for light fare and one for evening dining. On Tuesday evening, a prime rib special is served for $12.95.

Resort Experience:
On this exchange, we had a one-bedroom unit on the fourth floor with a sunny exposure on the deck all day. The unit is large, with a living room that has a sleep sofa, a large chair, armoire with TV, VCR and CD stereo player. The decor was like new and very tasteful. The bathroom has custom millwork all in cherry wood with his-and-her sinks, tub, and good-sized separate shower. The balcony has two chairs and a small round table and offers a view of Singer Island and the beach. The kitchen is adequate, with a countertop hot plate, microwave and full-size fridge. A small dining area with a glass table for four is between the living room and kitchen area. The bedroom has a king-size bed with armoire with two drawers, one end table with drawers, one lamp table and 27" TV.

Housekeeping changes towels every day and does a complete cleanup including linens mid-week.

The architectural flair of the building is designed around the Breakers. The buildings, rooms, and site are well maintained by a uniformed, neat-appearing, professional, well-mannered staff.

One problem is laundry - only one washer and dryer per floor at $1.25 for washer and $1.00 for dryer; they are in use most of the time.

The resort has a mandatory charge for parking, $5.00 per day (includes valet service), and $1.00 per day for a room safe.

Best Things Nearby:
The beach was just off the pool area. There was also this little shopping plaza down the street.

Best Things About the Resort:
The fact that the beach was out the back door. We could "pool it" or "beach it" with ease. It was the most relaxing weekend for us.

Resort Experience:
At the time we were there, they were doing some major renovations, so I am sure it is much improved. We could go swimming, sun by the pool, hit the gym (though small), walk on the beach, or take the car to some great places for dinner or shopping.
