Best Things Nearby:
restaurants, private beach, shopping.

Best Things About the Resort:
The resort was located right on the beach! It was also near restaurants and shopping.

Resort Experience:
The resort was beautifully decorated and most rooms had a full or partial ocean view. The room itself did have some maintenance problems. For example our phone didn't work the entire time we were there. We even had someone come and fix it and it still didn't work. Plus, even though the resort had a list of restaurants some of their info was incorrect or they weren't familiar with where an ice cream shop was when it was right around the corner. On the other hand....they did work with a local photographer who came to the resort and took beautiful photographs of us right on the beach! It was great to have a beautiful picture from our honeymoon....

The room was excellent. We had a beautiful one-bedroom ocean view which also overlooked the courtyard and pool. I very much enjoyed getting up early in the morning, making a pot of coffee and then sitting on the balcony drinking a cup of coffee, reading my book and watching the resort come alive as the sun climbed in to the morning sky. The rooms were large, accommodating and tastefully decorated. My only suggestion would be the installation of an additional towel rack in the bathroom. Four people and one towel rack just didn’t cut it. Other than that everything was great.

The beach was as nice a beach as you will find anywhere. One of the first things we did was to go to the little strip mall next to the resort and purchase boogey boards to ride the waves. We had a great time floating in the ocean atop the boards waiting for just the right wave to take us to shore. Of course, every morning the wife and I participated in everyone’s favorite at the beach activity. Beachwalking. This strip of beach is one of the cleanest stretches of beaches we have ever had the pleasure of strolling.

The resort featured the Flamingo Restaurant and Tiki Bar. We ate at the restaurant for dinner on one occasion and breakfast on the last day. The food was good and reasonably priced. Most of our lunches were at the Tiki Bar by the pool. Lunch was above par. The bartenders were excellent. Lanie, our server, was always there to take care of us with a friendly smile.

A small but adequate exercise room is located on the first floor. The amazing feature of the room was, unlike other resorts, all of the equipment was in working order. I was able to do about half of the workout I normally do in a much larger facility that I belong to at home. Of course, I am on vacation, so the fact that I even walked in to the exercise room is amazing.

Complimentary valet parking is available at the resort. We did not use this but did get to know several of the attendants who were quite helpful in providing directions.

Best Things Nearby:
Beautiful beach, shopping, great places to eat.

Best Things About the Resort:
Beach, Flamingo Grill, resort staff

Resort Experience:
The beach is the best part of this resort. The water is crystal clear, and even though you have to pay to rent the beach loungers and umbrella, it is worth it. All the staff on the beach and at the resort were very helpful and made our stay very pleasant. We enjoyed walks on the beach at sunset and wonderful meals at the Flamingo Grille. There are a lot of water sports to partake in: jet skis, parasailing, fishing, a gambling cruise, and snorkeling.

The one-bedroom unit was plenty big for the two of us, and we liked the separate shower and tub. They bring you fresh towels every day and clean the unit once a week. There is shopping within walking distance and many good places to eat as well. They had many activities that were family oriented, but since it was just the two of us, we spent our time at the beach. We would certainly like to return here again.

Best Things Nearby:
Sailfish Marina has shopping, restaurants and lake tours and sunset celebration; MacArthur Park is a natural habitat with kayak tours and beach; City Place for shopping; Flagler Museum

Best Things About the Resort:
The decor is beautiful. It's right on the ocean. Heated pool and jacuzzi. Restaurant right on premises. Very classy.

Resort Experience:
We could see the red clay roofs and the two symmetrical dome-topped towers of a splendid six-story, light-pink-and-green, Spanish-style resort as we drove into the town of Palm Beach Shores on Singer Island. It was behind a touristy shopping mall. After looking for the Palm Beach Shores Resort and Vacation Villas, we finally realized that magnificent structure was it, right on the beach. The covered entryway and classy lobby, with arched openings to rooms everywhere and the one inch thick, twelve inch square, polished Mexican tile floor, said "You’ve arrived."

Our unit was small, but exquisite. It was thrilling to see the effect purple granite tile on the kitchen counter and tabletop can have with dark stained bamboo chairs with leopard skin cushioned seats. The coffee table and armoire, holding the television set, were antique reproductions made of sculptured resin and gave old charm to that lovely little unit. Drapery with tropical print, on the triple windows and sliding glass doors, matched the throw pillows on the couch. Even though it was so beautiful, it seemed a little tight because the living room/ dining room/ kitchen was small.

In the center of the unit was an enormous bathroom with a wall to wall, ceiling to floor, mahogany storage unit with mirrors. A tub and a separate shower stall and toilet were also in the room, but it seemed like a waste of space when they could have expanded the living room into that area during the planning stage. The end units are peculiar like that. The bedroom was thrilling, with a king size black iron rod headboard with a mosquito net hanging over it from the ceiling. A dark stained bamboo and rattan antique reproduction bureau gave the impression of established wealth. All the walls were a sponged antique yellow and the floors were done in more of the polished Mexican tiles. Both the living room and bedroom had sliding glass doors to the patio.

The central courtyard had a sculptured heated pool and Jacuzzi and a round tiki hut bar, and was surrounded by lush tropical plants and huge bamboo bird cages housing live, exotic birds. A walkway went out to the sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean. There was a big exercise room, and the resort has a nice restaurant where we went to celebrate after we were talked into buying a week there. There are exciting, wonderful things to do in the area, so read my other entries in this journal.

Best Things Nearby:
The ocean is at your door, all types of restaurants are within walking distance, and you are close to the mainland. The marina is a slightly longer walk with more restaurants and charter boats.

Best Things About the Resort:
This resort is clean, spacious (especially the bathroom), comfortable, and has the greatest staff ever! Separate bedrooms with king sized beds and a fold-out sofa, the units are beautifully decorated and maintained.

Resort Experience:
PBSVV is truly a vacation paradise. Singer Island is a small community with a walking path from the center of the island to the water-wonderful for morning or evening jaunts. The resort is on the ocean with a beautiful pool and poolside restaurant/bar. The facility itself is beautifully maintained and the staff is incredible. Over the years, it has only gotten better and better. There is a camp for the kids and a spa for adults. Planned activities include day trips to nearby attractions like the Flagler museum and City Place for shopping. There’s movie night, pizza delivery 24/7, poolside games, and water aerobics. . . too much to list in one journal. It has and deserves its Gold Crown rating.
